Reviews
Other reviews complain about people screaming late at night outside - I was in a room on the front and I had little to no issues during my stay, and there's not much that can be done outside of the property... All the staff members were pleasant and the shared areas were always clean. Id be happy to go back and stay there again some day.
Paid WiFi, but it's cheap ($1/24h)
Sadly the upstairs mens WC was out of order which meant having to trek to the other side of the building to have a pee. If you're a light sleeper like me, bring earplugs as the street outside can get noisy with no soundproofing.
Couple of small things that would improve the stay - having some hooks to hang clothes and especially towels out to dry. And an extension cord as the only power point in the room is under the bed, so you have to pull it out or crawl underneath to plug your electronics in.
Good value for the area but could be improved with some simple fixes
CONS: no social interactions, poor and basic facilities, mainly working guys, no aircon.
The so-called "common space" has NO tables or chairs, so people are forced to sit on the steps with their plates on their laps, even elderly guests. It was sad to see them struggling to eat...
Outside, CIGARETTE STUBS are scattered everywhere—it’s absolutely disgusting.
In the private two-person room, there are only two beds, a single desk, and just one chair—so we couldn’t even sit and eat properly in our own room.
Even worse, the AC runs all day long, and you can’t turn it off yourself.
On top of that, you have to pay for WiFi, which barely even works.
There’s NO reception, so the only staff member you ever see is the cleaner.
This hostel is a disgrace to a beautiful city like Perth! 🤢
There is also no power supply near the bed, or…. 2m above the ground, near the roof (???)
We were also a little bit concerned about the safety of our room, as the 4 digits passcode provided to open the door is composed by the room number for the 2 first ones.
It’s also very noisy at night, as the walls are very thin.
It recommend unless if you have no other option available.
Good location, at only 15min from the center of Perth.
However, the room was very dirty, with black mold on the ceiling of the bathroom.
The toilet is shared, the private bathroom is just the shower. It smells like humidity a lot (considering that there is black mold… not surprised), but the air vent carries a poop smell. It’s awful.
The electrical outlets are put very high and there is only 3 in total. Our room was supposed to have some next to the bed, but there wasn’t any.
I tried to reach the manager about all these issues to change room at least, but there is no phone number available and no one present at the reception.
Very disappointed.
No free coffee / tea / sugar in the share kitchen while I was staying there.
After all its hostel, but sadly its pricey these days.
