Not Family Friendly

We stayed at the Thalheimer for the first and last time with three families (6 adults and 7 children) over Christmas to the end of December. Unfortunately, the homepage with its beautiful pictures promises much more than what was offered on site. At Christmas the hotel/pension was not decorated for Christmas at all. Unfortunately, there was no Christmas spirit and you weren't even allowed to sit in the living room with a bottle of wine after dinner on Christmas Eve and had to spend Christmas in your room. As a guest, you felt almost unwanted, since the employees unfriendly pointed out several times that the room would be locked right away, since they also wanted to celebrate Christmas privately. Furthermore, the tables weren't even set on any day, there wasn't even a tablecloth. A small salad bowl (much too little) was then placed per table and you had to see how you were supposed to distribute or eat it at all, without a salad plate. A charred schnitzel and a kind of toast were also served completely burned. Tap water is even billed in cans, which we have never experienced before. Orders for drinks often didn't come at all, and even after the week you had no way of checking the bill with regard to the drinks bill, which wasn't correct either. There was no fondue evening, as promised on the homepage, even on request. Not even the daily at least three types of cake for a snack. In summary, one can say about the food that it is not of the standard advertised, we didn't know a choice between starter and dessert.
The rooms were fine, although a family was struggling with recent water damage and drying equipment.
Overall, the atmosphere was not guest-oriented and there were many little things missing to make guests feel comfortable. The ski boots were still damp the next morning despite the ski boot heater (perhaps too much money is being saved here too). This includes, for example, offering shower gel in the sauna shower and possibly tea or water to drink. The adult bathrobe only fit one child and you couldn't go into the sauna without an extra towel. I could write umpteen more points, but I'll spare myself the details at this point. All in all, as guests, we didn't feel very comfortable on a skiing holiday for the first time in a long time. We can therefore not recommend the house.
