Schattberg in Saalbach

Very friendly staff, clean rooms, great location and good breakfast. We will definitely be back there.

Great hotel, amazing beds, fantastic breakfast – everything was perfect. The evening at the nearby "Goaßstall" (Goat Stable) was legendary.

The next morning, everything was a blur, and we had absolutely no idea how the goat had gotten into the room.

The goat itself seemed completely relaxed, yet still gave us a critical stare – probably the only one who had any idea what had happened that night.

For breakfast, we had fresh goat's milk.

Verdict: Highly recommended!

Just back from a new year ski trip to Saalbach. We stayed 5 nights at The Schattberg and loved it . Location was absolutely great, in an elevated position overlooking the village and Schattberg Gondola, 5 min enjoyable walk to lots bars & restaurants . The hotel was impeccably clean, with extremely comfortable bed and beddings, I think most rooms had balconies and our overlooked the town. Small restaurant with nice food served until around 8pm I think, breakfast was quite limited but nice enough . Very pleasant waitress, and owner. All lovely and trusting with a small honesty bar and no card details needed etc. Hotel was nice and warm with a really cozy feel to it, lots of nice lighting and rugs etc . Small sauna area which was great ( Austrian / German etiquette !) .We were a group of 8 and all loved it. Would certainly stay again if we returned to Saalbach .

Excellent location, not too far from the town. Cannot fault the accommodation, never got chance to use the steam room or sauna. Continental breakfast which has a great selection. All the staff are fantastic. This is the second time I have stayed here, 6 years ago was the first time and am pleased to say when I come back to saalbach this will be my first choice. Big thanks to all the staff. Had a fantastic holiday.

Hotel Schattberg, Saalbach. Super location and beautiful sunny weather.

We were there from 01-08.01 2022, and it was good. The rooms are very spacious and it is not so badly soundproofed, the breakfast is very good and plentiful, scrambled eggs are freshly prepared on request. It is a few minutes' walk to the center, but everything is within a healthy framework.

Lovely hotel, shame about the walk up hill after a long day on the slopes.
