I am a little surprised this hotel doesn’t have four stars. The service, the quality of the food, both breakfast and dinner, the rooms, the spa in the basement all deserve a high rating. The owners are friendly and one can immediately upon arrival sense this is a family run business with exceptional staff. The location is very unique, too, the immediate surroundings are quiet and the view is breathtaking. Hope to return.

A beautiful traditional family run 3 star Hotel in the picturesque village of Mariappfar, definitely offering 5 star service. Comfortable room with all the necessary amenities. Excellent restaurant with a lot of local game specialities. Great choice at breakfast with good coffee, fresh fruit and a wide selection of meats, cheeses etc. Nice spa in basement and free entry to a much bigger spa in the village. Hope to return!

The restaurant here was delicious! The watermelon & bruleed cheese salad was unique and amazing. The roast beef was tasty. The grilled salmon trout was perfectly balanced. And the hunters stew was delectable. The pine lemonade was light and refreshing, the forest mule reminded me that Christmas was right around the corner, and the German red wine was fruit forward and paired great with the mains. Finally, I didn't know what sorbet with a chocolate brownie would be like, not it was a surprising delight. The staff was friendly and checked in on you just as you needed them. Thank you for making our first meal in Austria one to remember.

Superb location, cozy atmosphere and traditional style interior. Breakfast is good, the staff is extraordinarily friendly and helpful. Lunch, coffee and dinner options are nice as well. As a house guest you'll also enjoy lots of benefits with the Lungau card.
