Hotel Villa Rckert in Graz

I stayed here through Airbnb for four months in one of the single room apartments located behind the hotel. Unfortunately, I wouldn’t recommend staying here for a long period of time. It is more suitable for very short term stays. Some points:

• Dirty: The apartment was dirty when I arrived. There were dirt stains on the chair, headboard, mattress, and bed liner. The floor had dirt and dried liquid splatters, and I noticed brown liquid stains on the walls near the bed. There were spider webs, pet hair, and even bugs in the corners, and mold was behind the toilet.

• Very uncomfortable bedding: The pillow they provided was incredibly thin, offering no support whatsoever, and the twin bed was uncomfortable. I wake up with neck and back pain regularly because I can feel the springs in my back through the mattress every night.

• Smoking is common around the property, and when you open the windows (which the host requires you to do four times a day to prevent mold), cigarette smoke fills the apartment pretty regularly.

• The apartment has thin walls, so noise from loud neighbors or hotel guests / staff members often disrupts my sleep. Weekend parties in the surrounding apartments Canon be loud too, with people shouting and blasting music.it has happened a handful of times during my stay and it’s difficult to sleep some nights.

Perfectly fine for a one-week stay, though a mini-fridge would be great to store perishables. Room is a good size, with a comfortable bed and reliable hot water. Air con worked well and was much-needed in the summer heat. Room not well soundproofed though, so footsteps and slamming doors can easily be heard. Having someone at the reception desk during the afternoon would have been ideal.

There was no free breakfast, i mostly left the place early morning for work so don't know if they even had food in premises. The rooms were very clean and sheets and towels were changed regularly. Staff was very prompt and all ears to my requests.
