Hotel Evergreen in Brussels

Very disappointed considering the price. Firstly ,it took 30 mins for us to be given our room key after arriving, the process (payment, ID check, room attribution, etc) was ridiculously slow.
The reception area was relatively nice but the room was a disaster. One of the windows handles in the main was broken, so it couldn't be fully closed. (Visited in winter).
The bathroom was dirty and smelled of sewage, and barely enough towels were provided.
The breakfast was ok, but very simple with not many options.
The only positive side of this hotel is it's location, which gives easy access to buses and grocery stores.
Absolutely NOT worth 80.- per night.

The environment

This was an uncomfortable experience.
It is located in a sketchy area of Brussels, and I did not feel safe coming home late at night.
When you arrive in the hotel, a strong stench hits your nose which I could only compare to an old grandma's house who hasn't cleaned in months. The staff barely spoke english. The main door had a complicated way of closing and opening (it could not be closed properly). The rooms were old and dusty, they hadn't cleaned under the bed in years. In the bathroom, the water smelled horrible, and the light was struggling to turn on. The toilet had this constant dripping sound inside of it, we tried to muffle it with to toilet paper to no avail. It was very loud. Showerhead was falling off from the wall.
Bedsheets had stains. To top it all of, we did not get any blankets, just another bedsheet, which we were supposed to sleep with. When we asked the reception as to where our blankets are, he replied "Is it cold?".
After searching for a blanket, in the closet we found an uncovered, dirty, thick blanket which we were supposed to put a cover on ourselves?? It was the middle of summer, so neither option would suffice. The receptionist just shrugged when told.
Will not be coming here again.
