Kaliakria Resort in Topola

Location is perfect as it was year ago. Personal was polite, room was spacious, view from the room, restaurant and pool is amazing. The resort definitely is not maintained well. All facilities are already old and not maintained in the years. Stairs to the beach( "the eco trail") are destroyed by the heavy rain and not maintaining properly. So the road to the beach is with car or with shuttle, but the personal is too lazy and you have to push them for the shuttle if is not much people want to go the beach. The matrass on the bed was awful, it is basically for the trash. On the side you should put that the two of the tree restaurants is closed in September. In the main restaurant refused to service you a meal less than 50lv, because they didn't have it. If you want alacart restaurant you need to have an alternative and also the rest of the complex to be on a level for that kind of restaurant.
Breakfast also two days it has everything, after that all kind of cheese disappeared, Salomon disappeared, more Tham half of food was removed, even honey and hot milk were removed from breakfast ( In the breakfast was only Bulgarians and Romanians. The days before that was Nederlands and English also). The level is not one day is every day and for everyone who paid. Don't be surprised by the attitude to your country's people. The Dutch is more important than us. You doesn't know what is hotel service and how to maintain it also, like you don't maintain the rest of the complex, which was in the higher level 15-20 years ago. Perfect place which desperately need new management and renovation.

The problem was that the cleaning staff did not clean the rooms ... so a disappointment in this area

We stayed for three weeks at a two bedroom apartment and I can say overall it is a good place.
First of all, the complex is well maintained in all outdoor areas. There is a place to park your car in front of each separate building. Parking spots can be full during weekends in high season, but you can still park in front of other buildings. The complex has several pools. still, on the main pool sunbeds are not enough to cover the demand and moreover people tend to leave their towels overnight to keep the spot ( this is minus for complex management for letting them do it) and you find yourself in awkward situations that all sunbeds are filled and no one is on the pool. There are three restaurants and also food is served for lunch in the main pool. The high end restaurant ( "el balcon del mundo") is the only one we didn't try so cannot comment on it. "La Teresa" is a pizza restaurant and I can highly recommend both for dining and takeaway. "Bistro" is nice and relaxing ,food is tasty overall, but portions are small and do not correspond in the price. Do not go for Adana kebab as it has nothing to do with that dish.
The pool bar is okay ,nothing spectacular with both during and food. They work from 10am to 6pm, and they close at 6pm sharp, so you need to be aware of this if you plan to stay for drinks over the pool during sunset ( I think the reason is that the same staff works in other places after 7pm).
The apartment where we stayed was spacious. Beds are comfortable, there are two bathrooms as well and nice storage area. Kitchen is missing some basic equipment and we had broken oven. Cleanness of the apartment was good when we arrived, but during our stay cleaning ladies would come every day to bring clean towels ( we had bulks of clean towels at the end) and only once to clean the apartment.
Again, it's a good place to stay with some minor issues that can be easily fixed 😊
