Sunrise Resort in Koh Rong Island

Stayed here on my new year “ Sunrise Vuth Resort” this is their new name, completely disappointed since arrived. Pool wasn’t available or under construction they just left it broken.

Room wasn’t clean I can feel all the sand in the room when I check-in, fridge was super old and broken, broken mirror in the bathroom. They have a bathtub and yep it’s not working as well only cold water in the bathtub..

Location is right next to the beach but the road to hotel is really hard to ride and find. but this is acceptable due to how ghetto it is on the island, not much sign on the street you gotta find a sign to Bunnan Bungalow that was next to this hotel. It’s far from the main area mostly a local stay here.

Foods taste just ok but it takes them very long time to serve even if there’s a few tables. Breakfast is bad just the same as other resorts nearby seems like foods wasn’t great on coconut beach.

Staffs wasn’t helpful for the information.

Receptionist room was empty.

I really wanted to cancel my booking with this hotel but I was so tired from the plane, car and ferry so it left me no choice to leave because every is fully booked on New Year.

This Place is sadly not the same like it is on the Pictures. Would be realy nice but i think covid made its work on that place.

This resort has a lot of potential, but at present it I wouldn't stay here unless the rate is $30/night. There are much better options on Coconut Beach, as well as the other beaches on the island (4K / Long Beach). Main problem with this resort for me, was upon arrive the pool was empty of water and all the chairs around it were in shambles, so upon check in I felt scammed as the pictures online well were taken in a better time maybe 5-7 years ago. I did actually cheekily ask if any partial refund could be given on the $100 a night rate, because I did pay up compared to other options, but the staff just gave me a flat No, they said I could cancel for a full refund but it's was New Years Eve and I couldn't find anything else. Other issues with the resort was the staff, there just wasn't enough, basically one or two guys. The room while big and having a lot of potential had flaws such as the shower having not big enough electric heater for it, and being super low pressure. The towel were stained , the aircon while working took 25 minutes to cool the room. They do serve breakfast, lunch and dinner, and while I thought the dinner was OK it's a bit overpriced on average $7+ a dish, the breakfast wasn't good but ala carte so that's something . If you want to stay on Coconut Beach, I'd say stay at Coconut Beach Bungalows or the Bungalows just next by. If you're hoping to pay up a bit, like I was for a room with Aircon and a resort with a nice pool overlooking the beach, check Long Beach and 4K beach so a few options on there that normally are $70 a night.

Also if renting a motorbike, I would not recommend staying here. The road , well most on Koh Rong are dangerous, but manageable , but this one is one of the worst, especially a night. All dirt and super downhill incline mixed with sand, and not a single light at night, almost died trying to return to the room after sunset. Also was ridiculously hard to find on check in as well, not a single sign on the road that mentions this resort, Coconut Bungalows on the other hand and the resort next door have beautiful signs on the road pointing to their resort.

Not refund even transport is stopped. Scam!!!

An almost abandoned hotel. The cleanliness of the place leaves something to be desired, a pool with dirty water and the sheets are soaked with moisture. During our stay the electricity and wifi turned on and there was no hot water. The almost non-existent staff have tried to help us solve these problems. Clearly to each of our questions, we had the impression of bothering them, they preferred to check the instagram of the story ... a multitude of services offered, but in reality it is nothing, when we ask to book the response of the scooters. he was negative and when asked how he could move on the island, his answer was that he couldn't move...
