La. Chronique Hotel in Phnom Penh

The room is well-cleaned.
The bed is very soft and comfortable. A cosy place to stay in.
The reception counter staff is very polite, can speak good English and is helpful and efficient.

Great quick stop in Phnom Penh and this hotel really made it special. Great service and friendly staff with very clean and welcoming hotel

I loved my stay here. This place is a bit pricey by Cambodian standards, but it felt like an overall good value to me. In no particular order:
1) Beautiful, charming property.
2) Highly professional staff who are also genuinely kind and friendly. Especially the front desk staff. Sadly, I missed his name, but there is one guy working everyday at the frontdesk and he is wonderful.
3) The breakfast was outstanding!!! And the bistro is also super charming.
4) I love the TTP neighborhood. If it’s your first time visiting Phnom Penh, it might be a little bit far from some of the sights, but tuk tuks are cheap and it’s nice to spend evenings in a real neighborhood. Plenty of good restaurants, cool bars and cafes.
5) It is very quiet inside the rooms. We heard very little street noise.
6) We stayed in a suite that had a large claw foot bathtub in addition to the shower with good water pressure and ample hot water. The smaller rooms don’t have the tub though.

The only potential downside is that the rooms are quite small. The suite was comfortable for two of us, but my friend who stayed in one of the smaller rooms said that she didn’t think it would be comfortable if her partner were sharing the room. I personally think it’s worth it to book a suite.

I am leaving today after a three night stay and I couldn't be happier with my choice of hotel. I wish I was staying longer!
As a solo traveller I chose the small double with balcony and it was perfect. A comfortable bed with good pillows, nice bathroom with rain showerhead, very good air-conditioning, and blackout curtains. The staff and service were absolutely wonderful. Everyone was so helpful and friendly yet professional. I had breakfast one morning at the cafe and it was excellent! I highly recommended La Chronique.

Loved La Chronique. Incredibly friendly and professional staff and the rooms were in great condition. The only downside was the room size. If budget allows, I would opt for a larger room next time, since the one we stayed in didn't have enough wardrobe space to unpack or stow our suitcases. The balcony was also very small, though it's probably a bit too hot anyway to sit outside.

This is a beautiful, well appointed boutique hotel. Front desk staff are exceptional as was our experience here. One of the nicest spots we have stayed in our 6 weeks in south east Asia. Highly recommend. Close to many restaurants and in the middle of town between the important things you will want to see.

Had a wonderful stay at La Chronique. The hotel is very well staffed and maintained. The rooms are well apportioned and kept in excellent condition. There’s an associated café downstairs, but if you’re looking for other options, there are fantastic more cafés and restaurants in the nearby area.

If you’re planning to explore the Royal Palace or other attractions, a tuk-tuk ride is only about a dollar. Overall, I had a fantastic week in Phnom Penh during the Water Festival and would gladly recommend La Chronique—and return on my next visit.

Stylish place and cute balcony with plants. Rooms quite small but very clean and great location. Stayed for 4 nights. Had a bit of a flea or bug issue the first two nights until sheets got changed and after I managed to squash the ones I was able to see. Quite a lot of mosquitos, killed them all every day before going to bed, sprayed repellent but they kept emerging out of nowhere. Room cleaning was very thorough, staff very friendly. No lift up to the lobby from the street level but staff were happy to help. Tried the stylish café downstairs, espresso was almost twice as expensive as next door and the cinnamon bun was super duper dry, but staff were very courteous and didn't charge me for it.

Absolutely loved my stay at La Chronique! Check-in was quick, easy, and super friendly — the team here make you feel genuinely welcome from the moment you arrive. The rooms are tastefully designed, with modern touches, comfy beds, and those soft, “club-style” towels that make all the difference after a long day. Everything feels fresh, well thought-out, and spotlessly clean.

The hotel’s coffee shop on the ground floor is fantastic — it’s bright, stylish, and serves excellent coffee along with great breakfast and brunch options. The décor across the property is beautiful: patterned tiles, warm tones, and that slightly French-colonial charm that fits Phnom Penh perfectly.

I stayed in one of the quieter rooms at the back — highly recommend! You’re shielded from the busy street noise, so it’s peaceful at night. The location is also brilliant — in a cool, leafy part of the city near Russian Market (Tuol Tompoung), where you’ll find local crafts, clothes, and some of the city’s best cafés and boutiques. It’s a trendy, creative neighbourhood but still very local in feel.

If you want to head to the Royal Palace, National Museum, or the riverside, it’s only about a 10-minute tuk-tuk ride away, and there are always drivers waiting just outside.

Overall, La Chronique has the perfect mix of comfort, design, and convenience. A great place to stay in Phnom Penh — I’d 100% come back again without hesitation.
