Nawin Guesthouse in Phnom Penh

I'm surprised this place has such a high rating in some of the booking apps. The location is good and the price is very good, but there are loads of problems - questionable housekeeping, rooms smell like smoke, you need to argue with staff to accommodate simple requests like extra towels. Spend a bit more and stay elsewhere. Cannot recommend.

I booked this place for one night- and figured out you get what you pay for.
It is okay for budget travelers. But wouldn’t recommend to people traveling with families.
The rooms are a bit dark and I got rash on my skin as soon as I touched the bed.
The toilet was smelling of pee.

I think the staff does a good job of trying to keep it clean, and they are helpful to let you choose which room to stay in, but it just feels dark and depressing.
Also there are no elevators and the steps are steep. I almost had a hike to fourth floor.
The aircon is very noisy and old.
Definitely not friendly for everyone.

Maybe it is my experience but I wouldn’t recommend it to people with sensitive skin or who get a rash easily as the bed sheet was biting my skin as soon as I entered.
