Mama's Villa in Phnom Penh

We've been here before and it was good.

But today it was the most awful food experience ever in Cambodia. (And the worst food overall by far in the last 5 years). Some of is had breakfast, and some pasta. The last food on the table was put down 1 hour after the first dish.

Raw french toast, watery bland carbonara, moldy cheese and raw potatoes. I asked the waiter just to taste the food, as I felt bad about complaining. I normally don't complain at restaurants, I just never go back.

We had to go to another restaurant just to get some edible food. ( And had a great experience)
I have to add that they did not charge us for the carbonara or french toast. It was that bad!
Covid is affecting all businesses, but I believe you have to keep the few customers you have happy.

When we first walked in I tried to show the guy at the desk all of the listed prices online for a room at this hotel and he still tried to charge $8 more than what EVERY agency had listed, so I stood there and quickly booked it online to avoid whatever this hotel's extra fees were. We were shown the room, which once the door opened the smell of mold hit us in the face. We walked in and put our bags down and noticed how they put baby powder(?) in all of the trash cans to hide the smell. Once you get over the mold smell, it's all about the vomit smell. Sour, cheesy vomit. The shower leaked. We tried to lay down for the night and immediately I started getting bitten by bed bugs. Disgusting. Went down to check out and get a refund and they wouldn't compensate us for the 2 hours we were there and instead charged us a whole night. The kid at the desk was friendly though. My advice, AVOID. Bedbugs are a nasty game, people. Even if you switch rooms the bugs will cling to sheets/bags/shoes/you. No room is safe in a hotel with bed bugs. Here's a picture below of one that was crushed after sucking my blood. Nasty.

If you check in at night, expect your booked room to be sold out to other walk in guest. The front officer won't say sorry and will be aggressively slam your booking paper on the desk and force you to leave when you complain. You will be surrounded by four men if you insist in getting the room. They will angrily tell you that the amount of money that you paid is not much but they won't agree to refund you in cash or get a partner hotel for you.

The room was too humid and they never clean the room, even when we hang the sign. The staff was nice, and you can get beer for 0.5usd right outside the hotel. Is not the best hotel neither the worst, but i dont recommend to spend more than 2 nights here. Kinda expensive, and the photos are not actually how it looks like.
