First, the advantages:

1. Affordable: At 180 RMB on weekends, the environment is relatively good for its price range, and the room is also quite large.

2. Close to the subway station, about 800 meters from Shanmei.

That's it. The remaining disadvantages:

1. Extremely poor soundproofing. People with neurasthenia or poor sleep quality should be cautious. The room is severely poorly soundproofed; car horns outside (it's next to a busy intersection) and sounds from the next room washing up (you can even hear the toothbrush cup being placed on the sink) are very clear. The windows are very thin and offer no soundproofing. Even late at night, many guests are talking in the hallway, which is also very clearly audible.

2. The bed is very hard and somewhat narrow. The bedside table is a very narrow little table; it takes up a lot of space just for a phone and a bag. There's only a power outlet on one side; the other side of the bedside table is missing, which is very inconvenient.

3. Hygiene was a problem. I woke up with a severe allergic reaction all over my body, something I've never experienced in other hotels.

4. It seems like the only place in the entire hotel with a washing machine is on the 5th floor (I asked the housekeeping, and there weren't any elsewhere), and there's only one machine, so I basically never got to use it.

In short, they couldn't even guarantee me a good night's sleep. I was woken up four or five times during the night by noise from cars on the street, noise from the next room, and other guests in the hallway. I will never stay here again.

You get what you pay for, but not in a good way.

I had a single night here and booked since the hotel had good reviews and was cheap, like many other hotels in the area, and it was not a good stay.

The room was tidy but smelled like damp and mold. There was mold on most walls and the bed sheets felt damp. The aircon was loud but didn't actually cool the room, it just pushed the warm, humid air around, so my sleep was very bad. The bed was pretty uncomfortable and the pillows too thin. The smell of mold made me dream about having mushrooms growing on my body.

The toilet smelled like ammonia, but the shower seemed OK and it had good water pressure.

The staff were all friendly and did what they could, but the building clearly has some structural issues with dampness.

Breakfast was fine, good selection, but nothing special.

Unless you absolutely need to save money, I'd spend a bit extra and go something else, unfortunately.
