We brought our child to Nanjing for a four-day, three-night trip during the spring break, perfectly avoiding the peak travel period. The hotel even upgraded our room type, which made us so happy! We drove here, and the hotel has its own parking area. It's also very close to the subway station, and across the street is the Avant-garde Bookstore. The most satisfying thing was the hotel's cleanliness; the bathroom was especially spotless. The breakfast selection wasn't huge, but it had all the essentials, and the duck blood vermicelli soup was delicious. The only minor drawback was that the curtains let in a bit of light in the morning; it would have been perfect if it were completely dark.

The room offered a great view, and it was very quiet at night, which made for a good sleep. You can scan a QR code to order food to your room. Although my first lunch order took a while, the food was decent. The rooftop restaurant has an excellent view, and I don't mind the higher prices, but the food quality was quite average. Specifically, the abalone wasn't good. I hope they can improve their dish quality to match the restaurant's high-end positioning.

This hotel is located in the heart of Nanjing, making it very convenient to get around. It's an older five-star property, but it's very well-maintained. The front desk, room service, and restaurant staff were all incredibly warm and attentive. The duck blood vermicelli soup was delicious, and right across the street is the main branch of Librairie Avant-Garde, which is perfect for snapping some photos.

First time staying here, and the hotel offers great value for money! The service was also excellent, especially the doorman who helped with luggage and gave directions – very thoughtful! The only slight downside was that the air conditioning wasn't very effective at cooling the room. The hotel mentioned it's because the weather isn't hot yet. I hope they can improve this aspect. I'd still consider staying here again.

This old-school five-star hotel really needs to learn from newer five-star brands. Why do they still require a deposit at check-in? And there are only four EV charging spots, all occupied, not even for charging, just for parking. The electricity fees are quite expensive too. Come on, step it up!

The hotel's location is excellent, making it very convenient to get around the city. The service attitude was impeccable, and we even received a small gift after choosing to upgrade our room.

We paid 99 to upgrade to a more premium Executive Suite. The room was indeed very spacious and well-equipped, even featuring a massage chair to relieve the day's fatigue. It truly felt like a classic five-star hotel. If you appreciate this kind of vintage decor style, you might enjoy staying here. The room hasn't been updated with smart home features, and the furniture has a certain age to it, but it's well-maintained, giving it a unique charm.

Although the bathroom occasionally had some strange noises, they were unnoticeable once the door was closed. I had intended to give a perfect score, but there was indeed an issue. Underneath the bed wasn't cleaned thoroughly; when I bent down to pick something up, I saw some trash left by a previous guest from who knows how long ago. For some, this would be an immediate dealbreaker.

Additionally, the hotel's introductory brochure had been defaced by someone. It would be best if they regularly checked and replaced these themselves.

The Gunan Hotel is an older, established five-star hotel in the city center. The staff are warm and attentive, the rooms are clean and comfortable, and being on a high floor, the view from the window is excellent. Plus, the subway station is right downstairs.

The transportation is very convenient, and all the attractions are nearby. The front desk service is absolutely on par with a five-star hotel. This is the difference between a star-rated hotel and what's called a high-end express hotel – the attitude, efficiency, and results in solving problems are all excellent.

This veteran five-star hotel still maintains its high standards. I've stayed here many years ago, and its location, surrounded by Nanjing University, Nanjing Normal University, and Yihe Road, is perfect for a leisurely winter city walk. The front desk staff, particularly Mr. Huang Qing, gave us a great deal and upgraded our room. The views were fantastic, and we had an unforgettable four-day stay.
