This is an older, traditional five-star hotel. The decor and facilities are quite dated, and the rooms aren't very spacious. In terms of comfort, it might even fall short of newer business hotels like Atour. However, its major advantage is its excellent location and convenient transportation, essentially being a subway-connected hotel (less than 20 meters away). If your goal is to be as close as possible to Xuanwu Lake Scenic Area, then this is an outstanding choice. Breakfast is served in the revolving restaurant on the top floor, offering expansive views, and the variety and quality are fitting for a five-star hotel.

I had a great stay at Xuanwu Hotel during my spring trip to Nanjing. The front desk staff gave me a complimentary upgrade to a suite, which was a small gesture but really made my day.

The views are absolutely stunning – directly facing Xuanwu Lake. Watching the sunrise in the morning and the sunset in the evening was incredibly beautiful.

And the breakfast was fantastic! The quality and taste were on par with any luxury hotel, and they had some unique specialties. The yogurt, in particular, was delicious.

The hotel's location is fantastic. It's right next to the subway station and a shopping mall, and Xuanwu Lake is also a short walk away. The hotel has a charming, retro design, and the staff are very friendly. The buffet breakfast is served in a revolving restaurant, and you can also take the hotel's observation elevators (numbers 4 and 5) for absolutely stunning views.

The hotel's location is fantastic, just a stone's throw away from Xuanwu Lake Park – easily walkable! Metro Line 1 is right downstairs, making it super convenient to get anywhere (seriously, public transport is the way to go, no traffic worries). The breakfast buffet on the 20th floor offers stunning views of Xuanwu Lake, so you get great food and a beautiful panorama. While the hotel's decor shows a bit of age, it's incredibly well-maintained, showing the hotel's dedication. Plus, the nearby Lanxiu City has all sorts of南京's specialty restaurants, so no need to battle the crowds at tourist spots. All in all, a really great stay!

The location is very convenient, just a few minutes to Xuanwu Lake. However, the soundproofing is very poor. If you're a light sleeper, I'd advise against staying here. I stayed in a room facing the street, and there was music playing until late at night from who knows where, plus the constant noise of cars on the road. It's an old five-star hotel, so the facilities are a bit dated. The service is decent, nothing exceptional.

Traveling with four adults and one child, we booked two rooms, and they were incredibly thoughtful, upgrading our room types and ensuring we were on the same floor. Our rooms overlooked Xuanwu Lake, offering a truly beautiful view. Breakfast was served in the revolving restaurant on the 20th floor, and it was delicious; the kids especially loved it. Most importantly, the hotel is very close to the subway station, making it super convenient to get to Hongshan Zoo and Xuanwu Lake. Highly, highly recommend!

The lake view room was a good size and offered a view of Xuanwu Lake. If the weather's good, you can even catch the sunrise. The service attitude was excellent. It's very close to Xuanwu Lake and the subway, which makes getting around by metro really convenient. Highly recommended! Just a friendly heads-up: the revolving restaurant for breakfast is located more towards the inner part, not right by the window!

My suite was close to the sightseeing elevator, and the noise was so loud from 6 AM until 11 PM that I couldn't sleep. On the morning of the 20th, when I checked out, I told a staff member at the front desk, who was wearing a plaid shirt, about the excessive noise. They didn't even bother to look up. (I have photos.) To open the window for ventilation, you have to crawl under a table. (I have photos.) The only staff member in the entire hotel who had a good attitude and was enthusiastic was the cleaner on the 17th floor. The service from the front desk really needs to improve.
