The hotel's location is excellent; there's a subway station right outside, and it's close to Zhongshan Square. It's also very convenient to take the subway or a taxi to other attractions.
During holidays, breakfast can get a bit crowded, requiring a queue, but the variety and taste are great.
The family suite is very good, convenient for multiple people, and offers good privacy.

The room was a bit dated. Service was just okay; the reception wasn't very welcoming, and the front desk staff seemed inexplicably rude. During check-in, they didn't clearly explain the room benefits, which was confusing. The breakfast plates were dirty and not properly cleaned. The concierge spoke in a stiff, unwelcoming tone. Overall, a bad experience! 🙃

Environment: In terms of location, it's just a short walk downstairs to Zhongshan Square, with plenty of great food options nearby to explore.
Service: They upgraded our room to the 41st floor, which was great since it was the Dalian Marathon and rooms were quite scarce. The package included executive lounge access, but there wasn't much food, so we just had a few drinks.
Facilities: As an older hotel, it has its advantages, but the downside is clearly the aging facilities. As middle-aged travelers, we prioritize a comfortable bed 😂 and a decent breakfast. We don't really care about smart devices, but the toilet seat was scorching hot, and there was no way to adjust the temperature, so we had to unplug it. 🤣🤣🤣

The 1.45-meter twin room is perfect for family trips, with plenty of space. The hotel's location is excellent, right next to Friendship Square, and a short walk to Zhongshan Square to feed pigeons. The high-floor view is also good. Breakfast is commendable. For convenience, we also had the hotel's dinner buffet, which was decent. The crayfish weren't live, and other dishes were average, but the live singer was great. Special thanks to restaurant managers Lily and Shannon, who were incredibly patient and attentive, especially with our little one. They went out of their way to make our baby happy, who kept calling them 'jiejie' (older sister).

The soundproofing in the room is excellent, it's very quiet, and the room is spacious enough for three people without feeling cramped! Plus, it has two bathrooms! The facilities have that classic five-star feel – a bit old but very clean, and the service is spot on! The hotel is centrally located, making it super convenient to get anywhere. Breakfast (pic 4) is plentiful with a great variety, always fresh and delicious every morning! The Japanese restaurant in the hotel (pics 1, 2, 3) is fantastic; the set meals offer generous portions! Extremely satisfied 🫶

Great location, very central and close to everything. The room was spacious, and while the decor was a bit dated, it was well-maintained. There was no butler service, but I'm not sure if that's because the room rate was on the lower side.

This stay was fantastic! The hotel's location is excellent, right outside the subway station, making it super convenient to get to all the nearby attractions. Check-in at the front desk was quick, and the service was warm and attentive. The room was clean and tidy with great natural light, and the bedding was just the right firmness—I slept soundly until morning. The bathroom had a separate shower and toilet, and the hot water came on instantly. The soundproofing was also excellent; I wasn't disturbed by any noise from the hallway. It's incredibly good value for money and highly recommended for both business trips and tourism. I'll definitely come back next time I have the chance!

The hotel's location is excellent, right by the subway, making it super convenient to get around. I stayed in an executive room, which was spacious, bright, and had fantastic views. The bedding was comfortable, just the right firmness, really helping to relieve the fatigue from traveling. The front desk staff who checked me in was very thoughtful and specially helped me switch rooms, for which I'm very grateful! Too bad I don't know her name 🌝.

Booked 2 rooms on a higher floor to enjoy the city views. Unfortunately there was a noticeable toilet smell in both rooms. Reporting this to the hotel staff we were allocated alternative rooms. They still had a smell but it was less pungent than the others. Having stayed at this hotel a few years ago, its showing signs of tiredness in fixtures, fittings and facilities. We were told the hotel will be refurbished in the year ahead.
Breakfast buffet is good with a wide selection of western and Asian cuisines. It gets busy, especially at the weekend.
There is a decent sized pool though the changing rooms are in need of refurbishment to bring it up to the standard of other 5 star properties in the city.
Room rates are currently low to reflect the hotels current situation, as told by a manager when the room smell was reported. Still a great stay thanks to its location and breakfast offering and the room rates.
Look forward to its refurbishment in the future.

Staff could be more pleasant, but this being mainland China, smiling and being pleasant isn't part of their culture. Especially towards westerners, who are typically viewed upon with suspicion.
