I’ve visited The Upper House many times over the years, and it continues to be one of my favorite hotels in Hong Kong. The team arranged an early check-in for my morning arrival, welcomed me with thoughtful amenities, and many staff members still remembered me from previous stays. When they learned I was traveling with my baby, they even surprised us with an adorable baby outfit—a small gesture that meant a lot.
The rooms are timeless, peaceful, and beautifully designed, with one of the best hotel bathrooms in Hong Kong. Sunday brunch and breakfast were excellent, and the 49th-floor lounge is a wonderful space for meetings or simply relaxing.
The only minor downside is the relatively small gym, although guests can also use the fitness facilities at the neighboring Conrad.
Exceptional service, understated elegance, and genuine hospitality. I can’t wait to return.

I thought the Mandarin Oriental, the Four Seasons, or the Peninsula were good, but the Upper House is in my opinion a step above. The rooms are not only generous in size, they are gorgeous, especially the bathrooms. Wow. The layout is logical and atypical, i.e., not boring. I loved the restaurant on the top floor and the library on the same floor was super enticing. The gym is small but absolutely perfect for me. I cannot believe it has taken me so long to find a 'go-to' hotel in HK. There are many other five-star hotels but I now think this is the most spectacular of them all. (28 years ago, I lived in a nice service apartment for a couple of years, which became the Upper House Hotel... When I mentioned to the reservation desk that my apartment was on the 46th floor, they gave me a nice room on that floor!!)

My stay at The Upper House was nothing short of legendary. I managed to book an incredible package with a massive dining credit at a historic price. The service was flawless—from the unexpected harbour view upgrade to the waived breakfast charge. The design is serene, the Maxi Bar is a generous treat, and the attention to detail is impeccable. While a TOTO washlet would have been the cherry on top, the execution in every other aspect was perfect. It wasn't just a stay; it was a masterclass in value and a truly memorable experience. 96/100.

A rather stylish boutique hotel. The 'lobby' and front desk on the ground floor were designed to be incredibly discreet, so much so that when I first arrived, I wondered if I'd come to the wrong place. However, stepping inside, I discovered a hidden gem. The architectural space is visually striking and full of design flair.
The guest rooms are presented in a Japanese style, with minimalist and understated decor. The layout is ingenious and well-thought-out, and the entire room is well-maintained, showing no signs of age. The bathroom amenity kit thoughtfully included lip balm and a small makeup mirror, showing a better understanding of female guests' needs than even the Rosewood Hong Kong. Overall, the stay was comfortable and relaxing.
Regarding service, the staff were warm and attentive, but there are two areas for improvement: firstly, if they could offer a glass of water or a drink to guests waiting to check in, it would be a more considerate touch; secondly, for turn-down service, if they could proactively remove the paper seal from the slippers instead of just placing them by the bed, the experience would be even more refined.

The hotel is quite clean. Even though it's been open for a while, the facilities aren't that old. Overall, it feels cozy and the environment is very pleasant. The best part is its convenience; there's a shopping area downstairs and plenty of food options nearby, making it perfect for a relaxing getaway.

I almost always stay here when I'm on business trips to Hong Kong. The ladies at check-in even recognize me now, and it always feels so welcoming when I go! No major issues, though some of the electrical appliances are a bit old, and some rooms can have a bit of noise. I'm sensitive to noise, but they always manage to sort it out for me. If only they'd update the in-room dining menu, I'm getting tired of it! 😂 The coffee and tea are both excellent, and the location is super convenient. I'd still highly recommend it!

For many years, when I traveled to Hong Kong for business, The Upper House was my go-to choice. Coming back after a 5-year hiatus, I feel even more warmly welcomed. The service goes far beyond 5 stars, from check-in to various housekeeping and dining services, it's all textbook-level excellent! Every area of the hotel is also very clean; I didn't see any stains anywhere. Highly, highly recommended!

Went for the breakfast view. No longer swarmed by influencers, it's much quieter now. Breakfast for four was served simultaneously by five or six waiters – quite an impressive sight, perfect for a photo op!

I used to come here all the time. Good food at reasonable pricing. But ever since the old staff resigned the new staff are very rude and service is nonexistent.

Very good burger. Much better than any other chain restaurant burger. Service was fast and prices are ok. For ~90HKD you get a burger meal. You can upgrade your drink to a milkshake and fries to different kinds of fries, which is nice ?

The fries were crisp and tasty. The burger was tasty, but disappointing. The beef patty was thin and small, to make up for this they add a pile of lettuce leaves. Looking at the burger, one would think is was a vegetarian burger as the small beef patty was well camouflaged by the abundant lettuce.

Getting more and more disappointment in recent visits. Taste is still okay over the years. Ordered my favourite fish burger and I found the fillet getting thinner and thinner, same thing happened to beef patty. The burger is less juicy overall. Milkshake is bad this time and it is watery. Definitely will go less if there is no improvement shown.
