We arrived at the hotel and were informed that the room thermostat works properly as long as the windows are closed. After 3 hours, with the temperature set to 22°C, the room was already 26°C. After reporting this to the reception, the option to set it to 18°C was unlocked, but it made no difference. We also received contradictory information: one staff member said the wristband (key card) does not need to be in the room for the air conditioning to work, another said that it does. The leaflet provided yet another explanation. Eventually, a technician arrived and contradicted all previous statements, explaining that the set temperature does not matter anyway because the entire hotel is operating in heating mode - and that it is best to simply turn everything off. When we asked how we were supposed to cool the room in that case, we were told to “open the windows.” This meant either dealing with a draft while traveling with a small child and keeping the window open all night (no mosquito net, ~15°C outside), or trying to sleep in a room at 26°C. The situation got even worse the next day - at 10:00 AM, the room temperature had already reached 28°C. Although the room was advertised as air-conditioned, in reality the air conditioning simply did not work. At reception we were told that “no one has complained,” which was clearly not true - while we were filing our complaint, another guest approached us saying he had been trying for 5 days to get the temperature lowered in his room. After several discussions, the first offer was change our room to a worse category room, without any compensation. After further complaints, we were given an additional room - unfortunately, it was even hotter (around 35°C). This additional room was not part of our original booking but was provided during the complaint process. Only after continued escalation were we finally given a room on the first floor, on the shaded side, where it was at least possible to stay. All hotel guests were visibly overheated - including the staff. By the way the attached picture shows what the “sea view” from a grand room on the first floor actually looks like - mostly trees, open swimming pool area (closed at the time being), a car park, and only a distant strip of water visible. The first room we got also leaves a lot to be desired: * clear signs of wear and tear * very impractical layout with almost no storage space * sliding wardrobe doors damaged or poorly installed, difficult to move * loose window handles that can snap back - a potential hazard for a child * broken night latch on the entrance door, meaning the door cannot be properly secured * bed rail not attached at all - a child could easily fall between it and the bed * partially torn curtain that cannot be fully closed * sheer curtain too short to fully cover the window * dirt, dust, and hair in wardrobes and even on the bedding Additionally, there are parking spaces available at the hotel, but they were all occupied during ou

Just like every other time we had a great stay in hotel Amarin! Our rooms were super clean and comfortable, we had everything we needed. Food is always delicious, we must be careful not to gain weight during our stay. Kids love the “spider-web” in the lobby, the parents love the lobby bar. It is a win-win We had lovely weather this time so we were outside by the playgrounds a lot and also rented bycicles. We only missed Marin during the meals and the green Marin “statute” at the lobby. We were told they are both at maintenance and cleaning. Hope to see them next time, kids love them! We will definitely come again

This is well equipped as a children's play hotel, ideal for young children and parents. However there are no real facilities or comfortable areas for adults, especially at this time of year. Neither are there many comfortable areas for families of differing ages to relax together and chat. The feel of the hotel is similar to living within a children's nursery facility. It does that really well. Transport out of the resort into the town is limited. Prior to 30th September there is an occasional free bus, a chargeable land train & chargeable boat. After that there is no free bus and no boat. The land train is also mainly full, leaving a taxi the only option at €20 one way. This was not made clear to us at the time of booking, or even on 30th September whilst in the resort, which was annoying. At the end of September various services at the hotel were reduced and advance notice of this would have been beneficial. Generally the service was just about ok, not especially helpful or friendly. The quality of the food is fresh and good, if rather repetitive. There is 1 child friendly bar area and the dining experience is chaotic and whilst totally child friendly is also disappointing if you are expecting a more usual adult or family mealtime. There was no evidence of any la carte restaurants. The hotel is very clean and well kept, in extensive grounds with two pebble beaches. There are various swimming pools indoor and out, catering for all ages and abilities that are attractive and well maintained.

Just back from a 10 night stay. This hotel is amazing for kids, they have catered for everything- the food is so tasty, enjoyed the buffet- the staff all work so hard. They are always in the background, cleaning, cooking, clearing so you can enjoy quality time with your family. The staff in the beach bar in particular at lunch time were amazing, my favourite phrase ‘just enjoy’ and we did! Loads to entertain in the day time, spent our time between the beach and the pool. Only point that could be improved: 1. Please provide more info when checking in, we didn’t know the sunbeds on the beach were included and not charged (there is a sign saying 45 euros), we spent 3 days under a tree for shade until we realised! The reception staff could give more detail on local excursion- eg dolphin tour etc which you can book ( which was amazing). The leaflet does say download the app but we weren’t told about the Maistra app when checking in. This hotel is not for night owls. The bar shuts down at 10.30pm and the hotel is dark and quiet- this makes it perfect for little guests and it suited us but not for everyone. I would say under 12 year olds would be the happiest at this hotel. A fabulous experience and a fantastic family hotel. Thanks to all

We stayed at this hotel so many times that we stoped counting Everything about this hotel is excellent, very child friendly and you really have the feeling that the children are in the center at this hotel. The rooms are very spacious, the amentities that you have in the room are everything that you need for holidays (so even if you forget some of the amentities at home, there is no problem). The hotel has different playrooms for different children ages, there is an adukt gym, as well as children's gym. Also they have adults spa anf children spa, for a quality time between mum or dad and the child. The hotel has two indoor pools and a couplen of outdoor pools. There is also a big playground for children outside. You can rent a bike and go explore the town of Rovinj. The food is so good, that you can't stop eating, everything from soups, cold appetizers, ice cream, pancakes. There is a children station in the restautant, so the children can get the food by themselfs. At the resfaurants you also have a station for solid food for babies that you pick and they mix for your baby. I tell you, everything that you need, they have Recommend it a lot!

We stayed at Family Hotel Amarin in December 2024, and we can truly say it is a dream hotel for children! Everything is thoughtfully designed for the youngest guests – from the rooms, playgrounds, and animation programs to the restaurants and activities. At the same time, the hotel offers an excellent wellness area where parents can relax and unwind. The food is very diverse and delicious, catering to all tastes – both children's and adults'. Everything is freshly prepared, tasty, and of high quality. In addition, the hotel offers practical conveniences such as an EV charging station, making it even more appealing to modern families. We highly recommend Family Hotel Amarin to anyone looking for a carefree and unforgettable family holiday!

Easyjet Holidays misrepresented the hotel by omitting the following statement which we found at reception during our week there. "WE SEE OUR HOTEL AND ITS SURROUNDING COMPLEX AS ONE LARGE PLAYROOM .....". This statement says it all really. Everywhere is a childrens playground, intolerably noisy, with no where for a pair of pensioners like us to relax. The room smelled of cleaned up sick. The 3 swimming pools, spa and gym is full of toddlers and parents. They do makeup for 3 year olds and upwards ! This hotel is only OK for families with young children.... nothing for teenagers OR adults. It was a truly awful experiece for us. That said the staff were lovely, and I think they felt sorry for us ! We were the oldest in the hotel. We are seeking full compensation from Easyjet Holidays. DONT USE THIS HOTEL UNLESS YOU LIKE HUNDREDS OF SMALL NOISY CHILDREN !!
