Renaissance Santo Domingo Jaragua Hotel & Casino in Santo Domingo

The hotel is OK, a few things to improve:
1. Bedsheets so all that you can see through them.
2. Pillowcases.
3. Clean carpet.
The building you can tell is not new, but it is OK to stay as long as the place is clean.

I’m one of those guys who usually spends 2 to 3 weeks on a hotel recurrently so I can get opportunity to experience all up's and down's in the place, this hotel for me is in a really good location, service in general its ok, nice and spacious rooms, they have a lounge and service there is really nice including meal options and snacks after 6pm quite ok, (although no free alcohol drinks,) food and room service are quite good as well in terms of size and taste, Gym equipment and the swimming pool are also good, on the first floor towards the pool there its area with an artificial waterfall which is a relaxed spot to drink a good coffee or beer.

The downside it’s the breakfast service… eventhough is buffet style service is slow, they are not well coordinated as they assign tables which has been already assign to other guests, it happened to me at least 3 or 4 times, they do not prioritize to clean tables that were used, they miss quite often to have coffee or cups to go, and if you ask for a box to take sort of lunch to go... I felt almost threatened as I was told I can only take “cold” meal options… what sort of rule is that? if you have already pay for the breakfast... anyhow hope they can improve this; also in my personal experience with other hotels the more they see you around, the better they treat you, and here seems the other way around.

Another downside it’s also the noise insulation on the rooms, you can hear more than need it… if you have good quiet neighbors not an issue, but if not, you won’t be available to get good sleep specially if someone returns at 2 or 3am from party speaking out loud;

Other not very good situation, is that even thought this hotel is in front of the sea, to cross the street its quite dangerous its a fast road (cars and motorcycles), I know this is not under control of the hotel but you should be careful on this.
