Pleasant hotel, family-friendly and young people, occupying a vast Park area. The complex has an "active" area, which hosts various events, theme parties, shows, and more peaceful, where nothing interferes with a carefree pastime.

The Bad - The beds were crazy uncomfortable and the pillows - man those pillows. They must have been designed specifically to make you not want to sleep in. The bathroom had a mysterious leak from the ceiling that we pretended was A/C exhaust, and you had to jiggle the handle a bunch to keep the toilet from permaflushing. We didn't have hot water for the shower so much as slightly tepid water. We had dysentery for a few days, we stopped using the tap water to brush our teeth which may have been the culprit. The private beach area does NOT extend to the water, so you have to brave some pretty aggressive vendors to get to the ocean proper. In the resort, there were salesfolk for some apartment or timeshare arrangement located on the premises that were just a little too aggressive for my comfort. After directly saying I'm not at all interested whatasoever, I got glared at by them for the rest of the stay.
The Ugly - There is no ATM in the resort, so I had to walk two blocks in town to go to a bank. That may not sound so bad, but it's kind of a rough area (but by no means a shantytown as described in other reviews). While I was going to the ATM, I was stopped by someone who was from the resort, he told me it wasn't safe to be out on my own so he accompanied me to the ATM. But then he made it pretty clear that I owed him a drink in return, I ended up being whisked to some bar 10 minutes away and bought him and his friend a round of drinks for an absurd price, then ended up giving him even more money after he complained he can't afford diapers for his kids at what the resort pays. He kept offering me cocaine and prostitutes which I politely declined. By the end of it I had to go back to the ATM again! So maybe the resort should consider installing an ATM.
Good food
Beach can be messy sunday after the locals have been around
Excellent customer service and attentive, friendly staff, grounds and buildings well maintained. Fairly good food, as far as resorts go, even better than the higher end places we stayed at in Cuba and Mexico.
Anyone out there looking for a reàl nice place in the DR, at a very reasonable price, be sure to check this place out.
