The location for El Kaoba hotel is ideal, right in the heart of Cabarete. However, the service left a lot to be desired. The staff were very friendly but we had major issues with getting even the most basic of facilities. We had booked through Booking.com 2 rooms for 2 people each, and El Kaoba told us a day before we were set to arrive that they could not honor our confirmed reservation but they would give us a quadruple room with 4 beds. Not ideal but we didn't have much choice so we took it. When we arrived, they actually gave us a triple room with three beds (a double and a single). This meant our daughter had to sleep on the floor. They kept telling us they'd get a bed but it took 2 days to actually get one (a new staff member showed up who seemed to understand that it was unacceptable for our daughter to be sleeping on the floor). It took a day to get at the very least an extra pillow and comforter. They didn't have extra towels when I asked for some new ones after being there a few days. Towards the end of our week long stay, we ran out of soap so I asked for another bar and they said they didn't have any and we'd have to go buy it at the pharmacy next door. Not sure if there were language difficulties or they really just do not understand the basics of hotel management, but the service left a lot to be desired.

That being said, the location is great, there is a decent restaurant on site, and there are nice areas to hang out. And it is a great value.

The rooms reeked of mold and stale cigarette smoke. When I complained to employee Mairon—who smelled strongly of vodka—and requested a room change, he was extremely rude, claiming everything was booked and I’d just have to deal with it. Strongly do not recommend. Plenty of better options nearby.

This is a premium hotel with awsome service! The pool is to die for. Best in cabarete 10/10 for sure. Beach is 30 seconds walk

The people were so kind, welcoming and accommodating to our very large group which to me makes a hotel special! The location was in the middle of everything (including the beach) and felt very safe. Although we didn’t use the pool due to our schedule, the area is beautiful, breakfast is included (if you paid for that part) and a restaurant is attached so very convenient for us.

I can’t wait to come back to Cabarete and stay here (not on a work trip) and enjoy the town more.
Also, I already miss the hotel kitty, Mimi. She is the sweetest thing!

Though the hotel is still going through renovations, it is a lovely place to stay! Across from the beach, with a beautiful pool, and warm, helpful front desk staff who are always smiling. We ate dinner in the restaurant daily and the food was truly excellent! If you're visiting Cabarete, whether to surf, sight-see or just enjoy the safe, friendly vibe of the town, stay at El Kaoba and you won't be disappointed.

Great place, new owners! Very clean, no dogs. Beautiful tropical habitat. Great location in the center of Cabarete. 2 minutes from the main beach. Great nightlife. Very safe. Excellent service. Renovarate restaurant and amenities in the main building.

Amazing! People there are so nice! Staff are amazing and the pool is awesome! REALLY RECOMMEND! So many choices and everything is beautiful! It’s everything you’ll need! You can go with your family, yourself, or as a couple and it is still amazing. Also it’s pet friendly.

I stayed here for almost 2 weeks.
The advantages are the cheap price, the cleaning which is done everyday, and the nice and easy going owner.
The cons are it doesn't smell good in the lobby, but you'll not stay here for hours so it's berreable.
Rooms are very humid, which isn't a problem for me but can be if you have asthma for example.
Rooms are not in very good conditions.
I slept very well, so I recommend and I would stay here again.

DONT BOOK IT - NICHT BUCHEN - NO RESERVA
- DOGS, min. 10 dogs are in the entrance -> SMELLS BAD, NOT CLEAN
- room = DANGER for health! It's mouldy & you can smell it directly
- everything was old & broken/more than used, DIRTY
- welcoming: unfriendly, not ready, not clean
- extra booked a room with balcony (safety reason) got the low/dark one (also after asking friendly)
the kitchen had no glass, 1cup only, some plates & pan+pot, a bit cutlery, fridge smelled mouldy
- shower water was cold-warm-cold, towels were not dry
- no security in the night
- electricity went of 2x
We had to pay more tax then it was written before, there was no "thank you" or "please", we didn't felt safe, welcomed neither comfortable
Also after asking to change the room, not possible. It was our only option, we had to stay, but please don't book it!
