The hotel's location is good, but the elevator is terrifying; I was always afraid it would break down (and it did, thankfully we hadn't gone in yet). Since we left at 7 am both nights we stayed, and breakfast wasn't served until 8:30 am, we had to waste both breakfasts. We tried to negotiate for two bottles of water as compensation, but they refused!

I stay one night in this very city centre and easily access hostel . The reception is very friendly and helpful.
The elevator that occasional have some problem try to be fix on demand.
I enjoyed the 10 th floor with nice view.

The room was on the 10th floor of a run-down apartment building with no signs outside, but you could use Google Maps for navigation. The elevator was old and you had to wait, but I was pleasantly surprised when I entered the hostel. Aside from a slight smell of recent renovations, it was very beautiful and new. The lounge had city views, and the location was great – a 10-minute walk from Old Ebola and a 30-minute taxi ride from New Ebola.
The staff were friendly, provided excellent service, and spoke fluent English. The hostel offered laundry services (5 pounds per item with dryer), luggage storage, and water (5 pounds for small bottles, 10 pounds for large bottles).
The downside was that the room was very noisy, like sleeping on the street. I recommend booking a twin room and sleeping on the bed furthest from the window… or wearing headphones, it was really, really noisy, but very pretty, haha.
Overall, it was a very good value option!

I booked a double room. It was early January, and the room was on the north side, so it was freezing cold. It was extremely cold at night, so I had to ask for two blankets and wear thick clothes to fall asleep.

My stay at Al Madina Hostel in Cairo was wonderful! It was my first time staying in a hostel and it exceeded all my expectations. The staff were incredibly welcoming and friendly, always ready to help with anything I needed. The hostel has a cozy and clean atmosphere that made me feel at home right away.
The location is also excellent—close to many attractions and easy to get around. I met some great people during my stay, which made the experience even more special.
If you’re visiting Cairo and looking for a safe, clean, and friendly place with a great vibe, I highly recommend Al Madina Hostel. I will definitely come back on my next trip!

My favorite hostel in Cairo! The building and its old lift might look a bit creepy (it’s managed separately), but the hostel itself is super clean, two thumbs up! Great value for money too!”

The location is at city center nearby to Egyptian Museum. Plenty of amenities within 10 minutes walk. The famed Koshary Abu Tarek is within 6 minutes walk. The rooms are well maintained. There is a staff at the reception 24/7. Guests of all ages and nationalities can be accomodated.
Suggestion for improvement:
1. The towels to be issued upon check-in and not upon request.
2. The lift need to be upgraded as I was ever caught inside when there is a power trip. And often the lift did not operate because the lift door was not closed properly. Understand that the lift is not manage by your hostel. Please request for it from the building owner as it is not acceptable.
3. Consider centralized air condition system. Anyone can turn off the air conditioner affecting others.
