Too bad, the location is extremely congested, cars can't get in, the hotel facilities are old, the towels are old, discolored and hairless

Breakfast is not much, too Egyptian, with bananas and cakes. Drinks are terrible. It is not appropriate to charge a night's fee for checking in four hours early. Luggage storage is available. There is a hair dryer. The location is very good.

It's in an alley, and the hotel rooms are similar to those in domestic hotels. Overall it's OK, but the transportation is not very convenient, especially with a lot of luggage. It's difficult for cars to enter the alley and it will cause traffic jams.

The room was old, the bed smelled, and the sheets had a bad odor. The hotel's only saving grace is its location. The staff were sometimes haughty; it felt like you were annoying them! The breakfast buffet wasn't good. There were a lot of guests from the Gulf region with significant etiquette issues. Avoid this place unless you only care about the location and are staying for a maximum of two nights

I stayed here 30 years ago, in 1995, and booked it again because I knew it was a great location. Staff was absolutely lovely, very helpful. Breakfast was amazing. Room was decent BUT, bathroom floor is designed such that water pools in the middle. Overall, the hotel shows it's age a bit and needs a renovation, but it's good value for the price.

Stayed here at the start of an Intrepid tour. It's clean, the bed comfortable and the staff extremely helpful. Breakfast was perfectly decent, with omelettes made to order. It is scruffy in places, but good value. Location is very handy - there are Nile-side restaurants five minutes' walk away. It is noisy - even with windows shut they sound open. We had a balcony with a view of the Nile.

Egypt Adventure tour with Intrepid This was my final night in Egypt, I was travelling with an organised Intrepid tour to Cairo, Aswan and Luxor and was finishing my stay here and leaving for the airport during the early hours of the 31st December. 5 is in a secluded part of Cairo. We arrived in the middle of renovation. Rooms are small and not very clean. Food un restaurant good but service is very slow and staff is confused and come to ask for your order multiple times. We stayed there for 3 nights and visited restaurant frequently.

The rooftop is really crowded on weekends. The view is good but honestly I’ve seen rooftops with better views in downtown. The food was and drinks were good and the service was fine. The bathroom wasn’t clean but I guess because the place was crowded when I visited.

The place is very cozy, especially with the pharaonic atmosphere all around. Beer and food very simple and related to local vibes and tastes. I enjoyed my time there. I only didn’t like the toilet:)

Lovely Staff and good breakfast. I don't mind staying at cheap hotel, but I don't tolerate fake pictures as this hotel, particularly bathroom which is small and the bathtub is absolutely tiny just for standing. Also, there is no facilities at all, no restaurant, no café, and no even roof top sitting as they said. it is just for breakfast.

New star Z hotel is located in a quiet side of the area but we were facing a school, which made the morning a bit of a nightmare to sleep in. The room was big and overall the stay was good. It has a good design (glass window for the shower for instance) but lacks finition. It didn’t look so clean but after inspection, we realised it was also due to the design. Breakfast was good.

Golden Hotel is a great place in midtown Cairo. I booked for 4 nights initially. Perfect location just across the road from the Museum. The hotel is safe for solo travelers, and there are police officers stationed on the ground floor of the building.
