Tundrea in Kilpisjarvi

We went to the restaurant and were pleasantly surprised by the excellent food and wide variety of dishes. The service and atmosphere were very good, and we had a wonderful time. The waitress who served us (Adriana) was very attentive and friendly. I would definitely recommend this restaurant

Visited in early December 2025 as part of a Transun organised visit to Lapland.

The resort is about 2hrs coach transfer from enontekio airport and sits on the edge of a lake with great views of saana.

We stayed in an apartment which sleeps 4 and is equipped with a small kitchenette, living area (with TV which was WiFi connected and had you tube, Amazon prime, netflix etc), wet room (with underfloor heating) and a small sauna. Sleeping arrangements are split with one bed downstairs and the remaining 3 single beds in a mezzanine level that is open to the main living area. The vestibule has a changing area and a clothes dryer built in. Accomodation was well heated - perhaps a little too hot as the heat gathered upstairs and little means to cool. The accomodation was nicely decorated in a Christmas theme and had plenty of space for our needs as a family of four.

The main reception area also serves as the site hub/restaurant/bar. Our meals were part of the package and the options were was good across all three meals of the day. After the first night, a children's option was added which was appreciated. The restaurant was pleasantly warm and laid out with enough space around the tables. Again the restaurant was nicely decorated in a Christmas theme with Christmas music in the background.

Beyond a jacuzzi and sauna facilities, there wasn't much else on site entertainment wise, however the site did put out sledges with the kids which filled much of their time outside of the organised activities. There was no shortage of snow during our visit although temperatures did vary from -24 to -6 degC over the course of 4 days. We were lucky to have a clear night and the northern lights were on show. We had other activities organised through the package so we also didn't go looking for more.

The site benefits from being only 5.mins walk from a well stocked supermarket (Kmart) which provided everything we needed - we could also get cash out there (ask at the till). In the same row of shops is a sport store, an off license, petrol station (with EV charging) and a restaurant.

We had dinner after a multiple day long hike, the burgers were amazing and they have Karhu Platina on tap (best finnish lager in my opinion)! Also the Lapland plater was amazing, different meats and smoked salmon, just as you would expect the taste of lapland!

I stayed 3 nights in a small cabin at the Tundrea Holiday Resort. I really enjoyed my stay. In fact, I had originally only booked 2 nights but I extended to 3 because everything was perfect. The staff was super friendly and helpful with all my questions. The shower and kitchen facilities were great and very clean. A big plus was the sauna. After three weeks of hiking it felt great to relax in the heat. There is access to the lake from the campsite and it is right next to the grocery store. Also, the breakfast buffet is excellent. Highly recommend this resort.

I enjoy the stay. We love the nature and the nearby tracks for both skiing and snowmobile driving- also to Treriksrøysa ♡
Nice restaurant in the Reseption area too.

Cottages are good and confortable, but the restaurant don't have many type of food. The bedrooms are very simply.
