Design Hotel

The hotel is located at the edge of the village by the highway and 500m from the slope. There are many bars around and restaurants are within a short walking distance. The hotel is made up of many small buildings - none of which are connected to the reception or the spa.

We had stayed at the hotel 8 years ago and have fonder memories, but this time was a bit disappointing. Our family room was fitted with 2 single beds and one bunk bed of 2 tiers. The fixtures were dated (despite being told that we had a refurbished room). We got a room on the 2nd floor (mind you they don’t have lifts so you’ve to carry your luggage up).

I was disappointed with the bathroom with the shower area not sealed off well, water flowed out into the bathroom making it wet (horrible situation when the temperature outside is -30). Also the room wasn’t cleaned well when we arrived and had to ask them to change the bedsheets. They did have a daily turndown service during which they cleaned our utensils.

The spa is good but wasn’t included in our price. We had to pay €10/adult and €5/child per day as a package. If you opt not to select the package then the per day prices are higher. Also, the spa is closed on Sunday and we were charged €25 despite not being able to use it. When I drew their attn they reversed the same. They also have a play area for kids and bowling lanes.

Their breakfast is quite good. Even though the food was the same every morning for 5 days, the variety was enough to keep you going with eggs, meats, cold cuts, cheeses, different types of cereals, pancakes/waffles, breads, yogurts and some more.

The reason for the 3 stars was the high price vs the quality of the room and service.
