I recently stayed at a ski resort on a school trip, and while there were some good aspects, the experience overall was quite mixed. On the positive side, the resort had a beautiful view of the mountains, which made the location feel special. The ski instructors were very good, and the ski hire service was efficient, which made getting on the slopes easy. The beds were comfortable, and the breakfast buffet was nice with a good variety. Many of the staff were also friendly and helpful. However, there were quite a few problems with the accommodation. The rooms clearly need renovating—there were broken vents, a broken cupboard door, and a balcony door with a faulty lock. Cleanliness was also an issue, with dirty towels, a blood stain on some towels, hair in the bath, a stain on the pillow, and a dirty wall beside the bunk bed. The carpet was unpleasant, and there was mold in several places. Facilities were also disappointing: the pool room wasn’t very good, the toilet flushed poorly, there was no air conditioning, and the Wi-Fi was very poor. Small details also added up, such as wonky lamps, thin walls, dirty utensils and plates, no hand towel, and no switch for the towel warmer. Food was another downside. Although breakfast was good, dinner was quite poor, and there were no gluten-free options. Communication could also be difficult at times as some staff didn’t speak much English. Overall, the skiing itself and the location were great, but the hotel facilities, cleanliness, and maintenance need significant improvement.

Rooms are basic and worn, but clean and comfortable. A good place for quick trips and school groups but definitely not the Ritz! Staff very friendly and helpful. Hotel is very tired and breakfast very substandard and disorganised. Location is ok but very noisy late at night due to pub across the road etc…

When I booked back in Nov-21 the reviews were all glowing but the recent reviews in Feb-22 filled me with a sense of foreboding! I booked with Iglu/Crystal & couldn’t fault Viktoria the Crystal rep. One of the previous reviewers said she was elusive. We had the opposite experience. She was in the hotel when she said she would be & was super helpful. The ski locker room is inside the hotel, through the main reception. Sure the fancy swipe card locks didn’t work but let’s not over dramatise, your skis & boots aren’t really at risk. There are much easier ways of stealing skis if you want to than carting them through a hotel lobby. Our hotel room (318) did also have some mildew on the ceiling, & one of the bathroom downlights wasn’t fixed in the ceiling properly but I have seen rooms much much worse than this. The room was spacious & well heated, with plenty of hot water. The safe didn’t work initially but the receptionist did manage to fix it with the master key on day 2. The staff were slightly Fawlty Towers’esque. (One of the front desk staff never took his coat off. Maybe he was cold? Even stayed on when doing an impromptu Covid pass check in the restaurant one night. Leaving in one wired airpod earpiece for good measure too - think Crockett/Tubbs crossed with Mission Impossible). I tried to converse with the staff in my schoolboy broken French & they didn’t understand a single word. By my own admission I’m not great at French, but I can normally get by. They didn’t understand a word - because they were all Italian with zero French. Weird. Breakfast was OK, we only ate cereals / continental bread & cheese. The hot alternatives looked pretty insipid. The quantity of food at dinner was never an issue for us, nor anyone else I spoke to during the week. There was an English dinner menu on display in the lobby - but the translation was terrible. French version was a lot more representative of the actual food. The dinners looked like they had been thrown together with whatever was in the kitchen at the time. Some really strange flavour & ingredient combinations. One main course being x2 Bratwurst type sausages with onions. Not amazing. Overall it seemed a bit like a hotel run by people who had never run a hotel before. We probably wouldn’t go back.

The hotel boasts a fantastic location, complemented by a welcoming atmosphere with a warm pool and a cozy sauna. The breakfast, available from 7.30 to 9.30, is delightful, but be mindful that arriving after 8.30 may result in limited food options. Unfortunately, our stay was affected by two separate groups of noisy school kids, disrupting the tranquility both day and night. While this isn’t entirely the hotel’s fault, their lack of effective intervention was disappointing.

Honestly? The hotel reeked of cigarettes, I was there on a school trip with a school I won't name. But I got sick from inhaling the cigarette smoke. We had small single beds in tiny rooms. The thing for adjusting the temperature didn't work either and it was either too hot or too cold the entire time. Now this might have been the hotel directly across from it but they are identical buildings and are under the same name.

Nice rustic place. The rooms are small-ish, but really comfy and the staff is very professional.

This hotel must have changed owners since previous positiv comments and nice food pictures were shared as they far from resembles the situation today. We stayed for a week and some days the food was downright inedible. The remaining days, it was just really bad. We only ate in their "restaurant" as we had prepaid but we considered leaving anyway.

The heat could not be switched off in one of our two rooms and the other room could not be sufficiently heated - and the staff also left the balcony door open there in minus 10 degrees after cleaning.

The only good thing to say about this place is its location.

We stayed for 3 days and two nights in this hotel. I would say that our experience was really bad. First, the rooms are really old. No toilettries offered and it is really dirty. Second, a man (staff) just came in our room looking for a key and he doesnt even knock. Third, is the food. I am a french and I know I am very sensitive with the gourmet and foods. The foods are cold and from a groceries and just put it in the microwave. The menu are all the same everyday , the service and organization in your restaurant are the worst because all the people are waiting for hours just for the food. I will NEVER recommened this hotel if you are going to les deux alpes. It is worst stay ever. Foods , service and the receptionist is really a liar. THE POOL and Spa is not working .( this is the reason why we take this hotel for pool but the manager and staff don`t even care. The pool is not working we requested and reserved for 4 times and they said they will call us ? but they forgot. Worst of all sorry.

I stayed 5 days for ski. I will not recommend this hotel. This is the worst hotel that I ever stayed and worst foods that I ever eaten. The rooms should be renovated and it is old. The foods are really not good. It is not fresh and like it is from a grocery store then put it in a microwave and the quality of the food is the worst it taste like that you just bought it in the garbage. You should have a chef in your restaurant. The service in the restaurant is the worst of all , My family waited for 1 hour every plate , appetizers , main dish and dessert. They do not have organization and they offer a menu every morning for diner and if you chose . They will not give you the same food in that time. The hotel should be closed because it is the worst of all. Nothing is good, And also in the door - we put " Please do not disturb " and the man just open and went to the room without knocking looking for a vaccum cleaner. You should give us a banner every room " Clean me , Please do not disturb " Or " Busy ". Also they don't give us toiletries no soap and shampoo. Worst

The hotel was quaint, warm and friendly. The rooms were clean, however the cleaner often only came at 4pm, and so when we returned from the slopes and wanted to relax, we had to wait somewhere else until she was done. The food was absolutely great, even though there was a set menu each night. The nights that had food that i was allergic to, i could have got an alternative which they did provide, but we decided to go out into the town for meals which was great. The staff were so friendly and often gave us tips and suggestions on how to make the most of our trip.
