Hotel Restaurant La Hoirie in Sarlat-la-Caneda

Lovely comfortable hotel with exquisite evening dining in courtyard setting. Generous breakfast and overall good value for money. Helpful bi-lingual staff. Swimming pool is welcome cooling for the Dordogne summer heat. Bedrooms are comfortable and clean with effective but quiet air conditioning.

If satnav takes you to narrow white gate, it’s difficult entry angle. Keep going round the hotel to wider gate and easier access round other side! Reception is at the back of hotel.

We have just finished 3 nights stay here on our road trip from St Marlo to Bilbao. A wonderful hotel, our room was lovely and had a bath, shower and outdoor space. It was very quiet and we slept really well. The food was fresh , local and delicious, compliments to the chef! After the first night we quickly decided to eat here every night and we had breakfast too where there was local breads, meats and cheese plus home-made regional cake. The restaurant team went above and beyond to ensure we enjoyed our stay. Personal recommendations were very much welcomed. The menu is a very good deal. My husband was unwell after a day out and they gave me a plate of food to take back to the room for him. The team are so attentive from looking after us to watering the garden to picking fresh flowers from the grounds for the dining room. There’s a lovely swimming pool and it’s a great location for exploring the area. Plenty of free parking. We are sad to be leaving, but we have to continue with our road trip, however this will definitely be on our list of one of the places to return to another year. There is such a lovely feel about this place. Also highly recommend the Market days in Sarlat.

This is the place to stay for short trips to dozens of nearby castles, picturesque villages and leisurely trips on the beautiful Dordogne river. It is convenient to Sarlat by car, bicycle or foot (maybe 20 minutes walk) yet quiet and peaceful. The restaurant is excellent as a choice for dinner, and staff (all English speaking) could not be more helpful. If you are fortunate enough to be served by Julie at the front desk, you will find her to be perfectly delightful. You cannot go wrong with this hotel!

Julie and Francoise were so welcoming and helpful. Could not be bettered. The bedroom was satisfactory even thought the en-suite was a little quirky. Dining outside was great. We were 1/2 board with a predetermined limited menu. No problem if you arrive early as there is a very nice swimming pool and lounge beds.

Lovely situation and ideal for visiting Sarlat .Relaxing garden area and pool an lovely restaurant

A recently refurbished lovely Logis hotel outside the centre of Sarlat. It has a new wonderful dining conservatory in which we ate twice because the food is so good. First class cooking, excellent service. Comfortable modern room with quiet aircon but separate toilet and bathroom all very clean and modern. The restaurant served us drinks on the terrace but there's no bar or comfortable sitting room to sit and chat. Very friendly reception staff and evening restaurant waiter. Simple continental breakfast was not included in our rate which we always think is disappointing. Still, we stayed three nights and would recommend it to others.

Beautiful, old buildings with spacious rooms and a fine dining area for breakfast and dinner. The staff was wonderful. The hotel is a bit far from town, but the location is peaceful and there’s ample parking on-site.

The food was excellent, and the only points I would subtract would be or the awful coffee in the morning. Otherwise, we enjoyed our stay very much. And who couldn’t love a rainbow-striped giraffe in the lobby and a lipstick-kiss covered hippo in the little garden.

A clean, comfortable room that had everything we needed, including a big bed. The pool was a good place to relax. The only disappointment is that breakfast looked very basic with few things to choose from. After seeing it, we decided to have it elsewhere.
