As the hotel was originally built by Napoleon III for his empress, it carries great historical significance and an exceptional sense of luxury. This is truly what one would call a “luxury hotel.” Moreover, the spa and hotel facilities are excellent, and I felt that even during the off-season or in less favorable weather, guests can fully enjoy their stay at the hotel. Come to the Brasserie for dinner. It doesn’t disappoint. Especially if you dine on the terrace or window side. I stayed here a few years back, and the room was lovely, breakfast exquisite. I came back just to dine this last summer and the terrace at sunset was incredible! Definitely worth a visit while in Biarritz!

What a special experience. We had Brunch on Sunday and what a fantastic experience. We were greeted and served by a wonderful team and the food was outstanding. Carla, Romain, Amory and M Griffon were the members of staff we met but we could see that this was such a well run Restaurant!. If you want an out of World experience then I would highly recommend a Sunday here.

The high end of hotels. Expect $1K per day. Sunday brunch is fantastic. Service is impeccable. Best to know some French. About half of the staff are not conversant in English.

I never got to terms with Pau as a town - August is not the time to go I learnt - but the hotel is pleasant, and the staff at reception and in the restaurants are helpful, polite and efficient. On that basis I would happily come back to the hotel and recommend it.

Lovely older building that has been updated and is very funky. Beautiful location however a little distance from city centre. Well appointed but not extravagant for the cost. Only issue we had was room had flies all over walls and was not checked prior to check in - issue was addressed once brought to staffs attention. Staff were very helpful and accommodating.

The location is fantastic! Just a few minutes to the main train station for getting to and from destinations like the airport or Cite du Vin. This hotel has been remodeled to a very modern facility. The room was well decorated and the bath area was very large offering both a shower and bath. It seemed to me the bathroom floor was heated. Fascinating in a good way! Fascinating and a little quirky, but in a good way. A former Natural History University building, remodelled with many references to its history. Well placed for the station and city transport and close to the Capucine Market - a must-see on your tour.

A historic building totally refurbished as a hotel in a great location to explore La Rochelle. Very comfortable and tranquil room. Walk out of the hotel, turn left and within a block you are walking by shops and cafes.

We stayed for our son’s wedding. We were treated like family and I’ll never forget the amazing stay we had in La Rochelle. The staff never had to be asked for anything. They moved about so quietly and efficiently that you weren’t even sure who did what, but you wanted for nothing. Truly amazing place. If you have the opportunity to stay here, don’t hesitate!

During our short 2 night stay, we found the hotel to be beautifully appointed and staffed by courteous and friendly personnel. The hotel is a short walking distance to the major sites and conveniently located near the bus transit stop servicing the entire city. We stayed 4 nights in a Premier Executive with King size bed and walk-in shower and we really enjoyed it. The staff at the reception were very pleasant and the breakfast was delicious.
