Had a great time at the Mercure centre ville and stayed for 3 nights. Exceptional service from the reception and cleaning staff. My girl left her stuff on her side of the bed during the day and staff left her stuff untouched which was great and they left her side of the bed unmade but they still made the effort to make my side of the bed. My friend booked a room on the same day for 500 yuan cheaper than me and included breakfast. I feel like I got a bad deal by booking in advance. The hotel does not have free parking, which was not beyond my expectations.

It's very close to the train station, just a few minutes' walk, perfect for catching an early train. It's about a 10-15 minute drive from the city center. Overall, the rooms are relatively spacious but comfortable. If you don't like red wine, I wouldn't recommend the medieval town. For me, this was the perfect location in the 'golden triangle' of Bordeaux. It's central, but quiet. Easy to feel in a local neighbourhood while being also in the heart of the city. Novotel Hotel is not far from Bordeaux City Hall and Cathedral. There is a large indoor parking lot next to the hotel, from which you can walk directly to the hotel; there are signs. Room wasn’t ready before 3:00 pm even though the front desk said it was vacant. We watched other guests receive immediate access before 3:00. Dirty torn faded carpet with wet spots. Refrigerator door was open on arrival. Shower floor extremely slippery and hazardous. No wash cloths available. We had a fantastic stay at this hotel during our family's stopover. The hotel was very clean, comfortable, and well-located, perfect for a stopover. The double bed was incredibly comfortable, and we slept wonderfully. Nice hotel, BUT... Stayed overnight in one of the suites, paid a holding deposit of 100 Euros on a debit card. On checkout we settled the bill in full and told the holding deposit wiuld be redunded in the next 7 days. This never happened even after sending 5 emails, direct to the hotel and through this app!
