Reviews
As a precaution, we had to spend the first day of our holiday washing and treating all of our clothes and luggage to avoid bringing any potential bed bugs home. This was stressful, time-consuming, and completely disrupted the start of our vacation.
On top of that, there was a power outage which left us without air conditioning for several hours, despite having paid extra for air-conditioned rooms.
What disappointed us most, however, was how the hotel handled our complaint. We emailed the hotel but received no response, so I called them directly. The receptionist was dismissive, made me feel as though we were not being believed, and refused any form of compensation because their inspection did not find evidence of bed bugs. We also requested compensation for the loss of air conditioning, but this was also refused.
A simple apology or even a partial refund would have shown that the hotel cared about its guests’ experience. Instead, our concerns were dismissed entirely, leaving us feeling very disappointed by both the stay itself and the lack of customer service afterwards.
Unfortunately, based on our experience, we would not stay here again.
BTW the hotel in construction so NO breakfast... everyone was asked to have breakfast to the hotel nearby which cost 17euros separately and the timing is 6:30 till 9:00am. Be aware.
From the beginning: location is decent, close to Perrache train station (not the main one, Part Dieu) as well as many shops and restaurants. However, when I arrived, the lobby was completely under construction, to the point that I walked in and immediately walked back out thinking it couldn’t be the correct entrance. There wasn’t even a walkway to pass through that didn’t involve stepping over a shop vac. The staff member at the front desk apologized for the mess, but still— not a great start. The first morning I was there (about 18 hours after I checked in), someone came by my room to let me know they needed to shut off the water for about 20 minutes due to construction. Again, on its own, I could overlook it, but to me this was another sign that they shouldn’t have been accepting reservations during construction.
The single room was ok at first glance, with a twin bed and some updated decor, but the layout and furniture made it hard to find a place to open my suitcase. The bathroom was also in need of a deep clean, as there was a ton of mold/mildew in the shower. The rooms themselves are accessed through an inner courtyard, so while there was no street noise, the door and walls were paper thin, so I heard every word of the conversations from the room next to me.
Given all of this, I couldn’t stay after someone opened my door late at night.
Maybe in the future they'll incorporate a safe in each room to leave important belongings in, at the meantime, you need to leave your keys to the reception everytime you go out, not that hassle because theirs always reception. As long as you dont leave anything of important inside for you to worry when you're out.
You can ask reception to keep your important belongings in their safe. Manon was the most hospitable receptionist during our stay, she always tend to us with a smile and was welcoming, she and David too, they always keep our laptop in a safe whenever we go out.
The woman of color was a bit too cold to be a receptionist. She didn't know where the safe was and just shoved our laptop in the cashier cabinet. Maybe she was new or just was misinformed and thats understandable, but working in this type of space, face to face with clients, one needs to be accomodating, attentive and atleast always with a smile.
Location was good in our opinion, Perrache Station was just a 3min walk. The hotel is right beside the Rhône lake, also a 3 min walk.
