Four stars? Must have been a long time ago!! Our Jun. Suite was antiquated, with a dusty feel to it, despite of obvious efforts of hotel staff to keep it clean. They certainly do everything in their power to keep clients happy, yet can't cover up for the obvious lack of means invested by the owners in recent years. Given that our Suite overlooked the entrance area it lacked privacy. Bathroom, a makeshift, half-open area at back of the room, wherein toilet is hidden behind a curtain.
All in all far from our expectation of a Jun. Suite at a four star establishment. Why not simply be honest and rate it as a two stars hosting happy clients?

Restaurant closed, gym consisted of 1 bike, bed was very hard.
Lovely building and rooms, nice that you can book the pool for a hour (not sure how that would work in busy times)
Really friendly and helpful staff.

Absolutely lovely garden , good parking and breakfast on the edge of town, no evening meal but plenty of options within 10 minutes by car. Staff all great and helpful.

From the outside look of the property we were expecting a hotel with period features and ambiance. Unfortunately, the part of the hotel we were in had neither except for a stone staircase. It was 1970’s in style. The room was very tired and the bedsheet was crumpled and not ironed!

We had read the many negative comments on the internet, but we do not understand them at all. We had a great stay. Very quiet surroundings in a park-look alike place. Nice breakfast and a very tasty dinner which we ordered one day in advance in the reception. The place has a great charm and combined with the very reasonable price for a 4 star hotel I rate it 5 stars here in my review. Great value for the money!

First the good.. the staff were helpful. Really kind, young, vibrant people. So that was good. The bed was comfortable as were the pillows. The not good... the hotel is lacking care and attention. The Wi-Fi was impossible to connect to although the receptionist did try and she couldn't manage it. The rooms whilst big were dusty and unkempt. The toilet was behind a curtain, no privacy. The decor was tired, the shower was dirty at the base. The couch in the room was stained. Unfortunately we had people below us who were up all night having a party and smoking. Not the fault of the hotel but the name of the hotel implies silence. The pool area was shabby. Even the plants were not watered. The garden was.. free growing. This is a hotel for young people, it's run in a way that can be described as free spirited. It's like a very upmarket hostel. We decided that after one night we had to leave as we'd had very little sleep and didn't fancy the behind the gauze toilet experience. To be completely fair to the hotel we made a very serious complaint and they refunded one of our two night stays. I cannot recommend this hotel if you're expecting the usual 4 star experience. Others might love it, we did not.

Not quite there
Hotel looked beautiful on entering the grounds. Checkin was unremarkable. Shown to room which was on the ground floor. Quite dark. Bed very low and both of us had trouble getting in and out. Small en-suite bathroom. It was a very hot day and night. We were on ground level with French doors to the patio. We couldn’t leave our doors open all night for security so neither of us got much sleep. Two teabags and two coffee pods no milk and a list of items in the room was left on the dresser, not sure if this was deliberate to ‘remind us not to take anything’!Small swimming pool booked out until 7pm. We did not eat in the hotel. Check out- my husband stood at the desk whilst the receptionist carried on her conversation with the cleaners. Not impressed. This hotel could be so good. It is trying but not quite getting there.
