Hôtel Mercure Paris Arc de Triomphe Wagram in Paris

This is by no means a 5 star hotel. The location is excellent...but that's it. From US standards I found this hotel to be mid and not worth the price. The family rooms just have two beds and no extra space but they cost twice the regular room. The staff needs to improve communication in English. Staff clearly informed me that a roll away bed was included in the price but still charged me 30 Euro extra. Breakfast for 2 was included with my Bonvoy status but extra 70 Euro was charged for my kids when we did not even go for Breakfast. Fortunately I caught that and it was reversed. The taxi Van was booked by hotel for 85 Euros but the drivers charged me extra when he dropped us of. All these experiences made my stay unpleasant. I do not intend to return. Only good thing this hotel has going for it is close location to the Arc.

My husband, myself, and our 11-year old daughter just checked out of this hotel and we can confidently say that we are not very impressed. We booked a Arc de Triompe Suite for this trip and had our Elite personal concierge from Marriott contacted the hotel beforehand that we would be arriving around 1-1.30 pm. on our check-in day. We arrived at the hotel around the mentioned time and found out that our room was not ready. The frontdesk staff appeared to be unaware of our arrival and we were not sure what the disconnection was. We totally understand that mistakes do happen, so we gave them some time and went out for lunch. 2 hours later, we came back to the hotel just to be told again that our room was still not ready. As an Ambassador Elite, we were stunned. We had never waited this long even with lower Elite status. We tried our best to brush this off of us as we went up to our room at around 6.30 pm. approximately 5 hours after our arrival. As we opened the door to our room, we were blown away by the strong musty smell and a mild vomit smell that was lingering all over the bathroom. Additionally, the room was very warm. To top that off, there was a wet spot in front of the refrigerator that I accidentally stepped on. We called down and the maintenance and the housekeeper came to our room very quickly to take care of the wet spot. We were aware that the room type we were in were fully booked and that there may be no more room to move into, so we decided to just put up with it because we all were tired. We had the living room door opened all night to cool down and to get rid of the musty smell. Aside from the mishaps, we would like to point out that "Lotfi", our server at breakfast was awesome. He was probably the only one that treated us so well. He did not have to mentioned our Elite status, but he did. He stressed multiple times that as an Ambassador, we deserved the best service in which he beautifully delivered. He made us feel special. If anyone in the hotel, especially the frontdesk staff needs to learn more about hospitality, they should learn from Lotfi. We found very minimal urgency in following up and solving problem from the frontdesk staff. We do not want an apology or sorriness, just please make it a better stay for future guests.

Not worth the price they charge and also very low in quality as compared to other Mercure stays.
Towels were not properly cleaned. Room on the ground floor was adjoining to the Hotel office and we were disturbed due to the noise in night. Breakfast seemed to be packed items rotated the same items from the previous day (even fruits a d vegetable were from day before). We observed this for all 3 days we stayed.
Worst thing, the cleaning staff just walked in when we were sleeping at 7 am in the morning , I was surprised to see that
