Hôtel Mercure Orléans Centre Bords de Loire in Orleans

The hotel advertises that all rooms have air conditioning. However, it did not work in our room and the room was too hot (24 degrees +). I spoke to reception who told me that it was centrally controlled and could not be altered. I have a photo showing a message on the controller unit which confirms this. Reception advised me to open the window, but as the hotel is near a main road, the traffic noise is very loud. I would advise people not to stay here - the rooms are either too warm or too noisy, and the hotel are breaching their advertised facilities. I am going to be filing a complaint and request for compensation for a poor night’s sleep.

This hotel is so noisy! You can hear everything through the walls. Showers running, people in the bathroom, kids constantly running up and down corridors. Wow wow wow!
I’m currently here in august and the amount of kids here is too much.
The parents do not control them at all and the noise goes on until super late.
No consideration for others.
The rooms and hotel is very old fashioned and dated.
Clean rooms but super depressing.
They’re doing a renovation, but sadly not finished.
It seems they used to have internal doors in the rooms to separate the wardrobe area and bathroom.
They have removed them but I think they were a good idea, to lessen noise from disrespectful guests in the other rooms and corridor.
Not a great breakfast really unless you like Eggs or sweet pastries and junky stuff.
Staff can be pretty rude and unhelpful.
There were a couple of decent members of staff at reception. Sadly can’t say the same for the African staff member at breakfast who went out of her way to be hostile and rude to us.
I’d never stay here again.
If you want peace and to sleep at night without door slamming, kids screaming and general noise from taps, showers and other weird stuff, STAY ELSEWHERE!!
Awful 2 night stay.

Very run down hotel. Had a room overlooking the Loire. The room was in awful shape. Bad smell on the corridor, bad smell in the room. Cleaning in the room was done (probably) in a very superficial way. Hairs in the bathroom. The bed was bad. The balcony was dirty and had no furniture. AC was not working. Got very warm in the room. Unconfortable to sleep. Paper this walls, no sound proofing. You could hear everything from the neighbours on any side. Door to the balcony did not close properly so the entire night we could hear the noise from the street. The parking in small and it was full. Breakfast was ok-ish but the concept to cook your own egg is very time wasting. Did not have slippers in the room so went to ask at the reception. They gave me a pair after telling me that the slippers are only for Privilege rooms??? At a presumably 4 star hotel. These are basic amenities. Had dinner and the food was pre-cooked and warmed. All in all a very bad hotel that should have 1 star. Would never stay there again and don't recommend to anyone.
