Hotellerie Saint Yves in Chartres

- Even with the extra map the hotel provides, it's a bit of a search to reach the hotel by car. Be sure to request an additional map when you leave (they have them at reception), because we wouldn't have known the exit route otherwise.
- The hotel itself is fairly basic, but very good value for money.
- We liked: The cleanliness of the rooms and the property, the location in the city center (not even a one-minute walk to the cathedral), the views from our room, the parking ground.
- We had some trouble with: The person behind the reception desk seemed very uninterested and annoyed. The breakfast was fine and there were plenty of choices, but everything could've just been a bit more refined (salami was very thickly sliced, bread was a bit hard,.. small things like these). But all in all it's fine for the price you pay.
- Just an FYI (since our son is lactose intolerant and I always appreciate finding these tips myself): No lactose free alternatives available at breakfast.

If you are looking for a peaceful perfectly located place to stay in the centre of Chartres this is it. Just a few minutes walk from the cathedral.

The property is located just behind or next to the cathedral with a parking lot which I didn’t need but was convenient for those who did. The staff is helpful and friendly. The rooms are simple, spotless and cozy. Breakfast is buffet with simple, nutritious and fresh offerings. The coffee? Terrific!

A brilliant place to stay if you want to visit the cathedral and the old gown .Only a few minutes walk to the cathedral from the hotel .Lovely. staff and good breakfast, rooms are basic but have good beds ,linen and walk in shower rooms. For the price it is brilliant and also has free car parking .

Old world charm just footsteps away from the cathedral. The breakfast was worth purchase. The room had everything we needed with a beautiful view of the village below. We would definitely stay here again.

For over 25 years, I keep coming back! Spotless, great beds, linens, best location ever and SO QUIET! Its simple character is clearly stated and reflected in the price. Great petit déjeuner. Covers all basics 5*. NOTE: Book ahead, 72 hour cancel policy, And get access code for their private (free) parking as it’s in the pedestrian zone. Views are awesome.
