Hôtel Mercure Rouen Centre Cathédrale in Rouen

We were there only for a night. But the man and the lady at receptionist were so friendly and helpful (forgotten to ask for name)

The Mercure Rouen Hotel is located in the city center, within walking distance of all attractions and food streets. The hotel itself is a typical older European hotel; the facilities and cleanliness are fairly basic, not quite what you'd expect from a four-star hotel. But these are secondary issues. The biggest problem is that most people come here by car, and parking is expensive (19 euros even in the suburbs). You absolutely must confirm the hotel's address with them before you can use the password to enter; otherwise, like us, we wandered around for two hours without finding the entrance. Only after finding the hotel did we get the correct address from the navigation and the password to enter, and the parking lot was extremely small. It was a real ordeal.

It's in the old town, very convenient, with parking nearby, but the air conditioning is too hot

Environment: In the old town of Rouen, you need a password to enter by car. You can email the hotel one day in advance to get it. You must go to the machine at the entrance where the GPS positioning is provided by the hotel for the password to be valid
Service: Very enthusiastic, English is also available, and the route of the old town of Rouen is introduced in detail. Drinking water can be collected in the lobby.

Super central location. Very close to everything. Very good service. Excellent breakfast!

Rouen Cathedral is right next to it, very magnificent. It is convenient to every attraction, you can go to the morning market, the town hall, the Jeanne d'Arc Tower and the Memorial Hall, and the ancient clock.

I can't say enough about this hotel. Mercure Hotels are upscale and are located world wide. Location, staff, rooms, and facilities are all excellent. Hotel is located adjacent to Rouen Cathedral and the central historic district. Vehicle access is restricted into this area, but hotel provides code to enter and use their covered parking garage. Access is easy from garage to reception area and lobby. Greeting and information provided were excellent. We had a corner suite and view from room allowed view of cathedral garden area, and streets with Norman style buildings. We enjoyed a late dinner at the hotel restaurant, food and service both excellent. Wonderful area to walk around with plenty of history surrounding the hotel, shops and restaurants on every block. Jean D'Arc giant cross monument was about a 10 min walk. Produce market nearby was open and very interesting to walk through. Area looked safe and didn't notice anything that caused concern.

I enjoyed learning new friend words today from the Manager soustasse is a saucer cup and saucer. Thank you.

A lovely stay! Breakfast ladies are very nice and funny and we joked about the man model in reception who has been standing waiting for years for his taxi! The Mannequin lol

Location of the hotel is very convenient and close to all main places. Parking is not available for middle car.

We had great hopes for this hotel upon walking into the lobby and meeting the incredible ladies who were manning the front desk upon our arrival. The suite we were given was nice but “clunky” in its layout. Having to walk down a half-light of stairs EVERY TIME to use the restroom was more than inconvenient. They also need to put some sort of traction in the shower as it’s very slippery and dangerous. The housekeeping personnel assigned to our room were also “just ok.” When the covers were pulled up on our bed, whomever did so pulled up covers over a small, travel satchel! The towels in our bathroom were also taken, but not replaced. Overall, our stay was satisfactory, but not exceptional.
