This is a review about the terrace restaurant, not the gourmet restaurant. We had one lovely dinner here, nice seating area, good atmosphere. The food was just OK, however it was our first day of vacation and we were very happy still. In fact, we decided to go back a couple of days later after a long day out looking for dessert since we had already eaten dinner on our way there. We were turned away with a rude "We don't have desserts, try the other restaurant". We know they do have desserts (we saw them on the menu), my guess they just didn't want to serve us. Apparently you don't matter if you just want something small or when the staff has a busy evening. Bad attitude.

The hotel is new and nicely decorated, no remarks. Everything is nicely cleaned.

The location is slightly less than expected as the hotel is surounded on one side by a busy road and a railway on the other side.

Food is excellent, nothing to remark!

Biggest negative point: the staff appears to be composed of a lot of stagairs/unexperienced new staff (the impression we had). For example: on multiple occasions we ordered something, which never arrived and needed to be re-oredered. We also made a demand for an upgrade in the room, but in the end we received anther type (not a big desaster) because our demand was lost somewhere. Moreover, not all staff members are equaly polite...

We thoroughly enjoyed our three-day stay. Staff, meals, room and hotel sitting areas were impeccable. The spa facilities and nearby hikes were wonderful. We are likely to go again.

The whole place was a joy, with very helpful & friendly staff. We had a stunning room, for which the listing photos don't convey the high quality at all. The room, bed, sofa, balcony & bathroom were all perfect. The rooftop was also great, with both stunning pool & sauna being excellent in addition to the many loungers/beds/relaxation spots. Snacks & drinks (order by phone from reception) were good service, but not always kept stocked (& mojito was too strong with not enough mint or ice). The pool bag in the room with sauna/bath towels was really helpful & made it really enjoyable to go to the pool. We didn't try the basement one. Dinner was very good at Schlossberg in the same building & breakfast buffet was luxuriously excellent, with a separate smaller Murgstube room to eat in that was a bit quieter. We went for a nice walk that still got deep into the forest, by walking up the hill across the rail line, behind the hotel.

This place is stunning. Great vibe, extremely clean, sophisticated, and the staff is friendly and attentive. It's easy to access food and drinks right in the hotel's multiple restaurants and bar. The spa area is stunning and makes you wanna stay all day. I've traveled a lot and this hotel stands above most others.

There are two different styles at this hotel… the new modern updated side and the older style side. Most of the photos on the website show the newer model side.

I had a room in the older side that faced the river. In order to get some fresh air since there is no AC, I had to leave the window open. The train runs right behind the hotel and can be heard just about ever hour, so this wasn’t fun.

The food was quit amazing though. The outdoor seating area and bar was very relaxing.

Hotel Sackmann has one of the most famous and one of the best Restaurants in Germany. Very plush and lovely dining room, premium choice of dishes, tasty, natural. 3 Menues, Artfully prepared, fish options, vegetarian options, excellent wines, perfect service. This restaurant really deserves the international praise.

Wonderful, relaxing hotel with outstanding spa/pool area. Fabulous Michelin 2 star restaurant on property. Would recommend a room on river side since street noise can be loud. Also there is no AC, so below the third floor will be cooler.
