We stayed at Hotel Sackmann for four nights in January and had such a fantastic time. The setting is beautiful and was exactly what we needed after escaping the London grind.

The leisure facilities are excellent and my children especially loved the open air pool which was a real highlight. The food throughout the hotel was wonderful and beautifully prepared by a team who are clearly passionate about what they do. Even something as simple as a freshly made omelette at breakfast finished with herbs and superb ingredients shows just how seriously they take their food.

One of the real highlights of our stay was the hotel’s Alpine chalet which is part of the Sackmann group and about a 30 minute walk up into the mountains. We were lucky enough to have snow while we were there so the children went tobogganing and then being able to warm up inside with a drink and delicious food made it a really special experience.

The staff were consistently warm and welcoming from the welcome drink on arrival to the daily biscuits laid out in the afternoon. The bar is also beautiful and perfect for relaxed pre dinner drinks. We were also fortunate enough to dine at the gourmet restaurant which was simply outstanding.

Overall the hotel exceeded every expectation I had and more. I can’t thank the team enough for such a memorable and restorative stay and we would absolutely love to return.

We had an amazing stay at the Hotel Sackmann. Everything was perfect including sauna area, pools, breakfast, dinner, coffee bar, and available walking routes around the town and near forest and small hills. Beautiful stay overall!

If I should mention any feedback on what could have been better, I'd have two things:

1. We stayed via Jochen Schweitzer and received one of the "charm" rooms in the old part of the hotel. We were a bit disappointed as the hotel only advertises its new rooms and it's nowhere mentioned that you get a room in the not-renovated part. The room is actually really ok, however it might be nice to advertise this upfront to manage customer expectations
2. The service at dinner was quite unattentive at times, making it hard to get the attention of the waitresses/waiters without chasing them down, or waving unpolitely and calling out. Having some check-ins at the table now and then would already make a big difference.

Excellent stay. Perfect hotel with excellent food. Nice rooms and perfect wellness. In the neighbooorhood you can do nice hiking in the Black Forrest. This is our seventh year at Sackmann and we will go back next year !

We stayed in the old part of the hotel. The rooms were a little outdated, but we were told they are being refurbished soon.

Great evening up at the hotel's own lodge up the 'mountain'.

Fantastic hotel! We booked the Verwöhnpension, which includes breakfast, lunch, and dinner—all of which were excellent. The spa area, with its indoor and outdoor pools and various saunas, was also wonderful. The rooms were modern and luxurious, definitely worth the price (can only speak for the updated area).

Two minor criticisms: the pools could have been about 2 degrees warmer (especially the outdoor one in colder weather), and my wife is gluten-free, which could have been accommodated a bit better.

Beautifully rooms and top notch service. The restaurant is aware winning from a celebrity chef, we booked full board there and it was worth it. Wellness area is very spacious with different sauna, steam rooms. We would love to go back! 10/10

Wow what a hotel!! Our favourite place we have ever stayed in the world. The staff were exceptional and went above and beyond to assist us with whatever we required. The attention to detail was impeccable and the facilities were immaculate. Lastly the food was incredible 10/10! Thank you for the most wonderful stay we loved it!!

This is a review about the terrace restaurant, not the gourmet restaurant. We had one lovely dinner here, nice seating area, good atmosphere. The food was just OK, however it was our first day of vacation and we were very happy still. In fact, we decided to go back a couple of days later after a long day out looking for dessert since we had already eaten dinner on our way there. We were turned away with a rude "We don't have desserts, try the other restaurant". We know they do have desserts (we saw them on the menu), my guess they just didn't want to serve us. Apparently you don't matter if you just want something small or when the staff has a busy evening. Bad attitude.

The hotel is new and nicely decorated, no remarks. Everything is nicely cleaned.

The location is slightly less than expected as the hotel is surounded on one side by a busy road and a railway on the other side.

Food is excellent, nothing to remark!

Biggest negative point: the staff appears to be composed of a lot of stagairs/unexperienced new staff (the impression we had). For example: on multiple occasions we ordered something, which never arrived and needed to be re-oredered. We also made a demand for an upgrade in the room, but in the end we received anther type (not a big desaster) because our demand was lost somewhere. Moreover, not all staff members are equaly polite...
