ACHAT Hotel Braunschweig in Braunschweig

I recently spent two unpleasant nights at this old and noisy hotel, and I feel compelled to share my experience.

First, the bed in my room (202) was extremely small, old, and uncomfortable. The photos I’ve attached speak for themselves. I requested to change rooms, but my request was denied due to the hotel being fully booked. The mattress was so worn out that it retained the shape of previous guests, as you can see in the picture, leading to significant back pain during my stay.

The noise insulation between rooms and floors is virtually non-existent. I could hear everything from my neighbors, whether it was watching TV, taking showers, or simply talking. I was constantly woken up throughout the night. My attempt to work remotely from my room in the afternoon was also disrupted by loud construction noise. There is currently significant building work being done, which I was not informed about during booking or check-in, making it a very unpleasant surprise.

To make matters worse, one elevator was out of service, and the other was only sporadically operational. This could be a serious issue for anyone with mobility challenges. Additionally, my room wasn’t cleaned during my entire stay.

On a positive note, the breakfast was satisfactory, and the location next to the train station is convenient.

Overall, this was a disappointing experience, and I would not recommend staying here.
