Hotel Mack in Mannheim

Second year in a row that I chose this hotel for a local conference. I must say that my review would have been 5/5 if I didn't experience what I'll report below.

The room and everything is great in this hotel (even if during breakfast they don't serve espresso).

The only problem I got is regarding the strong light that comes into the room (310) in the night from outside.

The first night I could barely sleep but talking with my colleague at breakfast I learned that she had roller shutter so I thought that it was my fault that didn't see it.

When it was bedtime again I unfortunately noticed that my room does NOT have roller shutter and, again, for the second night in a row could not sleep properly.

This situation would have brought me to give 4 out of 5 stars.

Anyway, when checking out the owner asks how were our nights and I reported the problem. Firstly the host told me that the street in front of the hotel is dark and there is not light (which is of course not true), second that I had roller shutter but I didn't see it but the worst in my opinion was the laughing at me in front of my colleague and another guest. Lastly, the host, after learning my room number (evidently he understood that I really didn't have roller shutter) didn't apologize at all.

So, in conclusion, when somebody asks: 'how was your staying' this person should be welcoming respect to complaints. This was not the case.
