Stayed one night as we needed a place to sleep. Rooms are cosy and clean. We had a lovely 4 course dinner and a good buffet breakfast the day after. Would recommend if you are passing by. The town is also really cute to visit and walk around.

The hotel has a great location, it's a 10 minute walk into the centre. There are ample parking spaces available. The room was spacious but lacked amenities like coffee or tea making. The breakfast wasn't the most outstanding, but it was ok. You had your normal choices of bread, jams, cheese, and meat.

Our second stay in this lovely hotel. They are very welcoming and Room 11 was spacious with extra seating inside and out on the balcony. Breakfast is extensive with local produce and home made jams. Oberkirche is less than 10 minutes away by car so this hotel is placed well for travelling around the area. We will definitely come back again next year.

The surrounding environment was nice, but the room amenities were very basic. I had communicated with Ctrip beforehand that it would be €20 per night for a child, but they wanted to charge €30 per child upon check-out – speechless 😓 Ctrip refunded the difference.

This is a wonderful little hotel run by lovely, friendly people. We really enjoyed our two nights here. It is spotlessly clean. There is a beautiful, relaxed feeling. It is set in a superb location in the Schwarzwald with lots of scenic drives nearby. The meals are delicious and so is the beer. We highly recommend this property.

I was upgraded without charge to a room with a balcony and it was the most peaceful experience I’ve ever had while traveling. We enjoyed our stay, the room was spacious and we had a nice view from the balcony. We also like that they were pet friendly, the only less good part was that we reserved the big bed, but in the end had 2 small beds next to each other. Let's start with the fact that we paid 76€ for a double room (we were with a one-year-old child) with a balcony. A room on the first floor with a small coridor from which you entered the bathroom and which overlooked the bedroom. The space was quite large. The decor of the bedroom and vestibule moderately modernist, 6/10. The bathroom in a terrible style from 40 years ago, visually for us 1/10. But...

Nice location: only 25 minutes by foot from the main train station. The room was clean, having own bathroom. No noise during the night. Good breakfast in the morning - I would advice to take one. Black Forest Gem A wonderful classic resort in the heart of the Black Forest.

Unfortunately we were not able to sit with our family and friends at dinner. Everyone had an assigned table.

Perfect accommodation beyond expectations

Okay enough room I don't usually make a review before I checked out but considering the fact I can't usually find staff I will say the walls are extremely thin and I was just woken up at 4:22 am by some yelling lunatic. It's scary actually but once again because there's no staff at night I can't stay much else. It's close to the train station atleast just didn't sleep much.

The hotel is located very central, Only few minuyes walking to shops and train stations and a lot of restaurants in vicinity. The room is very clean and bed is comfy eventhough a little soft for me. But it is a matter of preference. The front desk staff were nice and helpful. It’s a perfectly located hotel with supermarkets, food joint in close proximity. Hotel rooms are super clean and comfortable! You have to park in the parkhaus and stamp your parking ticket at the hotel desk to get a discount on overnight stays.

We booked 2 double rooms - very big rooms and pristine clean. Splendid service with owner himself involved and available most of time and putting eye for details for a great experience for all guests. Great location with very nice views, super nice breakfast. Gengenbach is a lovely small town only eight minutes on the train from Offenburg. Reichsstadt Hotel and Restaurant is in the middle of town and only a short walk from the station. Great location in the centre of Gengenbach. Nice to find a pool and spa facilities in town hotel. The apartment was small but well-equipped. One drawback was the lack of air conditioning which meant opening the windows onto a noisy bar. We did not receive our welcome drinks. The breakfast was very tasty and the garden setting with views of the town was idyllic.

I am not a biker and this place is fantastic for bikers, but don't let that put you off if you are a non biker as we're talking responsible bikers. Food is good, drinks are reasonably priced and in my short visit the staff were friendly and toilets spotless.

Pros: delicious (traditional) food. Great sauna area. Fantastic selection of hikes in the vicinity. Very clean. Friendly staff (for the most part). This hotel is highly recommended, the owners are very friendly as well as the staff. The breakfast buffet is extensive and the dinner is very tasty. Great location, great breakfast, and a great pool. However, we paid for an extra bed in the room, and when I went to put my daughter to bed, I noticed a strong urine odor. It took a very long time to get a replacement bed brought to the room. When I mentioned the issue at checkout, staff were unwilling to make it right, even though we paid for a bed we couldn’t use at first. Very disappointing.

Staff was outstanding. I’d like to mention the little lady at breakfast. She was so pleasant and nice to talk to. Another lady who stood out was the blonde lady at dinner who was very attentive and friendly! And the young man who helped us in the mornings since he spoke English the best. Thank you!

First time in black forest Great location, short walk to train station and a lot of trails for hiking. Hotel staff was amazing ( special thank you to Michael, Ivanna,and Vannaren Yani). Room is spacious and clean,and the breakfast is ready good too.Totally recommended.

We stayed one night at the hotel and had an overall very good experience. The staff were really friendly and happy to help with any questions. It was great that we could have dinner at the hotel restaurant. In the morning, the breakfast was also perfect, with a variety of options. Rooms can be booked either in the hotel (with a private bathroom) or in the hostel section (with a shared bathroom).

The staff were friendly, professional and very accommodating. The hotel was decorated with the most stunning of Christmas decor and the food was on par with a 5 star hotel.
