Mercure Hotel Offenburg am Messeplatz in Offenburg

Terrible. Old. Cold room with no hot water.

Terrible experience. We arrived late and were greeted at the reception, which fortunately was manned by one person. After quickly checking in, the various problems and inconveniences began, which persisted until checkout the next day.

1. The elevator didn't work; the staff member kindly took us to a service elevator so we didn't have to climb the stairs with our luggage.
2. The rooms were cold and didn't have independent heating.
3. The room was dirty, with stains on the bathroom wall and under the dirty bed, and dusty carpet.
4. The hallway had dusty and dirty carpet.
5. Upon waking up at 6:30 a.m., there was no hot water, neither in my room (331) nor in adjacent rooms, and I presume it was the hotel's. No hot water until 8:00 a.m., checkout time.
6. Breakfast was poor and with little choice.
7. One of the two coffee machines didn't work.

I sincerely felt sorry for the hotel staff for having to work in such poor conditions.

I'm sorry, but I can't recommend this place.
