7 years ago was the first time I stayed in this hotel. I always had very fond memories of my experience and wanted to come back to enjoy the experience again. Unfortunately our stay left a lot to be desired. The classic double room we were given was outdated and in need of care. No A/C on these rooms. Service was friendly but very scarce. Called twice for assistance and was promised someone would attend to my requests and nobody showed up. After 30 minutes of wait I decided to speak with the manager. I explained my room problems and was given a new room that had everything the other one lacked. Recently refurbished, A/C and also nice view. Our dinner at their emblematic restaurant was a total disappointment. I have been in many Michelin starred restaurants and this one is on the bottom of the list. The restaurant has great ambience but that is it. Food is very "a la Michelin" (small portions well presented) the food quality is good but nothing to celebrate about. Service was below average, I had too work very hard to get the attention of a waiter to ask him to serve more water. At the end I gave up and picked up the bottle of water and served it myself. The whole experience was grotesquely overpriced. A small dish of carrots 36 euros and a glass of italian white wine 17 euros(for europe its absurd, these are Miami or New York prices). The staff is very friendly and the location is magnificent. I can only hope that with time things will improve at this emblematic hotel.

Boutique Hotel Heinz Winkler is fantastic! We had an amazing suite with stunning views of the mountains and the Hohenaschau Castle. The staff was extremely attentive, making sure our every need was met. We ate at the Bistro and it was fabulous. I can't say enough good things about our experience there! It was just wonderful - the best way to spend the last days of a long vacation. We look forward to returning - with family, next time!

This is a top end restaurant and place to stay. The staff is warm and gives the guests extra attention and makes every effort to make a stay perfect. It’s actually a bargain for the price.

We celebrated our 40th anniversary at the Residenz Heinz Winkler, and wow, did it exceed our high expectations! Our room was absolutely stunning, featuring two beautiful levels, tons of windows, and amazing views. We loved coming back each day to a lovely plate of fruit and perfectly clean rooms. The restaurant is definitely top-notch, but still feels really personable. And the staff? They are friendly, super knowledgeable, and genuinely go out of their way to make your stay picture-perfect. To Herr Winkler and his staff, thank you very much!

Fantastic hotel, with exceptional restaurant and super friendly and well trained staff. There is a lot of car traffic in the town, but nonetheless this hotel is highly recommended.

We had a wonderful stay here. We had some trouble sorting out our booking accommodations from a third party site and the hotel was very patient and flexible with us. Alexander, Larissa, and other front desk members were incredibly kind to us! The suit we stayed in was beautiful with a breathtaking window view, and the complimentary breakfast was phenomenal! I would highly recommend staying here to anyone that wants a relaxing and elegant vacation!

Hotel was nice, staff was pleasant and location was great and walkable. My only complaint is that they only have one restaurant and it happens to be a Michelin star. It’s great to have a high end restaurant on premises but the lack of choice forces you to spend $300 in a dinner for two. They should have either another eating facility like a coffee shop for quick food or a more expansive menu in the only restaurant to include non-Michelin items.
