One of the better places in the heart of the town for beer lovers with a tasty weissbeir and a really nice dunkel (dark lager). Way better than the Weibs brewery around the corner. It's very busy so service was a bit slow but is a very nice place and the food was good.

We visited Hotel Restaurant Zur Sonne on a Saturday evening without a reservation and were warmly welcomed. The staff was very friendly and managed to find us a table, even though the restaurant was quite busy. The dining room is spacious, and it was clear that many locals and groups choose this place to meet and eat—which is always a promising sign. The restaurant doesn’t aim for fine dining or unnecessary frills; instead, it serves straightforward, hearty German home-style cooking. My wife enjoyed the traditional Schäufele, while I went for the Cordon Bleu. Neither dish was a culinary revelation, but both were tasty, satisfying, and exactly what we were looking for. The portions were generous, and the prices very fair, making the overall value excellent. If you’re in Dinkelsbühl and want a genuine, no-nonsense Franconian meal in a convivial atmosphere, this is a great choice. We left happy and would gladly return.

We stayed at the Altstadtmitte Hotel connected to The Sonne for the second time. Very quite family room with AC with a good shower and comfy beds. Excellent included breakfast and super lovely staff. Had dinner several times a the Sonne: frankonian soul food at its finest at reasonable prices.

Perfect location in Dinkelsbuhl
We appreciated being able to select Room 115 to get all of the features and comforts we were looking for. Our room was clean, spacious, cozy, QUIET and comfortable. The shower was very nice too.
The location is perfect for touring the town and the restaurant is an added bonus! Have some great food and beer and walk up the stairs to your room afterwards.

Easy hike with great view.

This comment is on their restaurant. It was our first time having lunch at the restaurant since November of 2020 before the COVID lockdown. Even though it was a little rainy and cool day, we really enjoyed our lunch at their outdoor café. Service is great, and food is very good.
