Reviews
Breakfast is quite a good variety of food as well as the one who has so many food allergies
I highly recommend it.
It's a little far from Nuremberg Central Station, but it only takes about 10 minutes to get there.
It also takes about the same amount of time by taxi.
However, you have to walk about 10 minutes from the nearest station to the hotel. The path isn't very well lit and can be a bit scary, so although it's said to be safe, you need to be very careful.
Good things:
- Clean, spacious room and common areas
- Delicious breakfast.
- Bar downstairs was so outstanding that we stopped by every single night during our stay. The service staff, a gentleman, even remembered which drink was ordered by which person a day ago!!
- Italian restaurant had great taste in recommending red wines.
Hope-to-improve things:
- The key card scanner could have done better. The first time it does not work for me at elevator; the second time encountering renovation so we needed to change key; the third time I found it required a „special“ angle to detect the key.
During normal days, I’m fine with it, but after a long day, it was a bit disturbing.
- There was no water dispenser at lobby. Normally I’d expect to get cooling sparkling water whenever at hotel.
- On check-out day, counter staff was not quite helpful. I asked politely if I can get some water, she said that you can ask (or buy?) it from the bar or the restaurant. Interestingly to aware that a necessary item (drinkable/filtered water) for human being was not default to be provided. :(

We booked a 4-person room at NOVOTEL for our family of six (2 adults + 4 small kids under 9). This has never been an issue anywhere else in Europe — kids share beds, no problem. The booking was confirmed, paid, and I even informed the hotel while making the reservation through booking.com.
When we arrived around 22:00, exhausted after a long drive, the receptionist refused to give us the key unless we paid for a second room at full price, insisting even our toddlers must be “counted” as adults and thus we shall have another room, suggesting two of the kids to sleep in a separate room which is absurd and unsafe.
When I asked for a refund, since they were refusing the room we had paid for, management flat-out refused and lied, blaming Booking.com. After calling Booking.com, I learned it’s the hotel’s decision whether to refund or not. In other words, NOVOTEL tried to scam us: “buy another room or leave and lose your money.”
We walked out. Thankfully, Mercure hotel right next door welcomed us warmly, gave us a spacious room at the same price, and treated us like actual guests.
The next morning NOVOTEL had the audacity to mark us as no-show and issued a refund of 10eur.
Bottom line: NOVOTEL does not care about families or hospitality. If you are traveling with children, stay far away. This hotel is a scam and a disgrace to the NOVOTEL brand.
-Parking expensive, food good but expensive, a lot of insect.
-Gym has just 3 condition equipment and just 3 kgs dumbels for weight. Better not call gym not available.
-There is electricity sockets at terrace but non of them working.
You guys should better pull quality a bit better. Do not match with what it looks like online.
The family room was a pull out sofa bed and a double bed. There is also ventilation i the rooms. We all slept well.
There are plenty of things to do in Nürnberg too. We went to the zoo. It was large and a great way to spend the day.
A good tip is the restaurant Pizzeria Ristorante Il mondo, a 15-minute walk, which serves good Italian food for a fair price. It cost €58 for 2 pizzas, 2 pasta dishes, and drinks.
Can only recommend for the price paid. 😊
I recommend it.
