i got concerned reading some not so good reviews, but i think those people were expecting a hotel not a hostel.
this is a great location, walking distance to many of the man berlin sights. the staff are very friendly and helpful. there is a water dispenser at reception and free bag storage. the lockers are huge and work well. the showers are great. there is plenty of space in the rooms, hooks for towels and jackets, and a plug and lamp at each bed.
however there were so many school children staying when i was there, which i don't mind, but they were SO loud. they were running up and down the halls, jumping and yelling until late at night. you really need good earplugs if you're a light sleeper. there was also a man who was clearly on drugs who was staying and would often just sit/lie down in the hallway or in a doorway. he left a smell and was also creepy, looking at people with a microscope and was standing and watching me and my friend when we were playing pool. the reception knew about him and had complaints so im not sure if they were doing anything. i am glad i chose a female only room. also a great price for this location.

I was searching for an affordable room in nearby of Berlinale EFM activities I had to attend. The price compared to pictures provided on Booking.com seemed to be good, but reality was somewhere different.

The floor I was put in was having an unpleasant odour, and the room I was in had a different one on its own (like mould, or something) – all my belonging smell of it right now. Hostel was full of school trips so there was noise of doors slaming from people going in and out of their rooms to showers and back – early in the morning and late to the night. I was there in February so room was a bit cold, when I asked whether they can look at heating it in my room as it was half warm and half cold (signs of air in the system), they turned up the heating in the whole building instead.

For one night emergency stay probably ok. For staying in private room couple of days, I would recommend to pay more somewhere else.

I went there with my friends. The rooms were okey but not really clean. One of our beds was broken and the rooms that were supposed to be for 5-7 people weren’t big enough for that amount of people. The lobby looked cool. We also experienced some night disturbances like knocking on the doors. That wasn’t cool and I think if the hotel is letting school groups stay there, they should also be responsible for the peace of the other guests staying.

Very affordable hostel with a great location. It's not luxurious of course, but the stuff is friendly and the rooms as well as the shared bathrooms have been very clean. I would definitely book again.

One of the Best Hostels I stay in my life. Super big and interesting building. The Staff of the Hostel it’s very kind and super Helpful all the time. I stay in the private room, it’s really comfortable and big, the toilets and the showers were Clean all the time.
Something important is that is close to Berlins center, so there’s no need to take public transport.
I highly recommend this place !
