Absolutely amazing place. The town is wonderful.
The hotel itself awesome. The best shower I ever found in a hotel. Super good breakfast, and delicious dinner!!! We will definitely come back for a longer stay.

Very nice and cozy hotel, great service in the evening. Unfortunately the female employee at the breakfast buffet was very rude and had a very disrespectful attitude towards us, which I hope will be corrected.

Unfortunately the stay was not enjoyable. The staff (especially the lady working in the restaurant) did not allow us to sit for breakfast at the table we had chosen, arguing that it is for 4 people (we were in 3), after a while at the table sat 2 people. The room itself and the hotel equipment is also far from the standard of 4 stars, the price in our opinion is too high and certainly you can find better offers in the area.

I can only thank you again for the kindness of the hotel! I had to book a room at short notice and had already made arrangements for my stay, but then my colleague dropped out and I had to cancel. In fact, this matter had been resolved in advance and you know what happens next, but when I asked about my updated travel circumstances at the hotel, I was told that they would take care of it and get back to you - the same day! This proactive communication was exemplary - and on the day of actual arrival, a promise of goodwill was given!!! As soon as I return to the Goslar area, I will book here again!

I found the hotel staff to be very friendly and helpful. I really liked the breakfast, but unfortunately the warm dishes (scrambled eggs, pancakes) were quite cold. The hotel is in a great location and there are plenty of parking spaces. The children's playroom is unfortunately pretty bleak. A room without windows. No nice wall decoration, furniture looks thrown together. Not a nice place for children. With a little money and love you could certainly achieve a lot. The rooms are modern - I liked the bed and the small walk-in closet. Unfortunately the room does not seem to be well looked after: - The handle on the sliding door was loose - The shower hose was broken so water sprayed out of the hole - The toilet paper holder was patched with a paper clip - Very large cobwebs in the room The new bar is really nicely designed and actually really cool to end the evening. Unfortunately the bar has a breakthrough to the hotel's dining room and that made it very loud. Perhaps the noise level could be reduced with a door or something. I can't say anything about the spa area as we didn't use it.

It's a shame that the hotel doesn't keep what was promised before we arrived. We have a sensitive dog and we specifically contacted the hotel BEFORE we arrived to ask about the hotel's conditions and to check our dog's needs. Unfortunately, these agreements were not kept during our stay. We were assured that there was a separate area in the annex with the dog rooms where it would be quiet. Unfortunately, that wasn't the case. It was very loud and, although the hotel was not even remotely full, all of the rooms in the so-called "dog section" were occupied and there were problems as several people gathered in front of our room while we were away and our dog naturally made a fuss about it. The people who gathered in front of the room were of course people who didn't have a dog with them and had no understanding of a dog barking when the owner was away and several people gathered in front of the door. This simply caused us a lack of understanding and anger, as we had specifically checked the situation beforehand and, inexplicably, the entire compartment was packed full, even though half the hotel was empty. Accordingly, it was quite stressful to leave the dog alone in the room for meals and you couldn't even eat in peace. Not to mention that you had to pay €14 per night for the dog to justify yourself to the other guests. I also think it's a disgrace that the hotel is declared a wellness hotel when the spa area consists of a small sauna and a tiny relaxation area. It was OK for hiking. Some hiking trails were closed due to forestry work and you couldn't do the huge loops because you were already at the summit. The signage for the hiking trails was also poor. What was really OK was the food. But it wasn't justified for the price. There was a buffet with a small selection. Unfortunately, we won't come back again after this experience.

I and my partner check in 12.July - 16.July 2024. The room is good ,clean and great. The staff at the kitchen are very polite and helpful, they are very nice and approached you and greet, I am comfortable when I came inside every breakfast and dinner because they are accomodated.
The food is okay ⭐⭐ but I guess the chef must taste the food because most of the food in dinner was no taste( other are okay)
Staff service ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5 stars for the staff only in the kitchen they are very good.
The old man at the bar who is serving drinks ⭐ 1 star . The old man who is look like a middle eastern look, he is a bit tall , and he is entertaining bad. He showed bad attitude when we finished our dinner and would like to pay the drinks, I understand that he is busy of other guest but as guest we dont have to wait for 15-30 minutes sitting when he come to collect our payment. My partner come to kitchen and he paid there but the old man came and say " You should pay for me not in the kitchen because I am the one who served the drinks" Hello,is he crazy? If he cannot accomodate all the guest he must ask for help for his co-worker , and if he is tired he must stop working and relax. We are guest and every second and minutes are important for us as tourist not by sitting at the table and waiting for a long time.He is very unpolite and I saw his face and his head saying bad.
The staff at the reception are very friendly so ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ for them.
The massage staff ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ is good.
But,hoping every summer you have an extra electric fan becausw it is really hot in the room. Guest cannot sleep so good.
The bar tender the small old man he is very kind ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐.

My wife and I have visited this hotel twice in 7 years and we were very satisfied each time 😁. The service is good, the food is delicious and includes a good selection (half board). The rooms are nicely furnished, the beds are good - everything you need for a (short) vacation. Only the Harz itself has significantly fewer trees 🌲😕. Recommendation 👍👍

Good day. I live in the United States and served with the U.S. Army in Berlin between 1973 and 1976. As often as I was free on a three-day weekend or longer I drove with 2 or 3 or 4 other soldiers to the Harz Mountains area for a holiday outside the walled-in city of Berlin. We all always enjoyed the sense of real freedom outside of Berlin and within the Harz. Although small in size Hahnenklee was our favorite city in the Harz. There always was much to do outdoors especially for young, physically fit, sports enthusiasts. I returned in 2014 and stayed more than two weeks with Ralph and Marion Schwarz, hoteliers. I suffered an accident to my eye and Marion and Ralph helped save my eyesight! My visit was as if I were at home with family. I returned again in 2016, 2017 and 2017 for summer holidays again with Ralph and Marion. For a single man, the rooms are spacious, comfortable and clean. The meals, breakfast, dinner and mid-day coffee and sweets in the restaurant or on the patio are first class and prepared entirely by Ralph and Marion to ensure quality. Prices are unreasonably inexpensive. For everything which is offered, such a facility easily could command a much higher price in a similar area in the United States. The residents of Hahnenklee are sociable; the restaurants are varied, clean and serve good food. I write this review now because I know that Germany, like almost every other country in the world, is suffering from the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic. But I wish to encourage Germans to vacation in their homeland. If you have not been to the Harz and Hahnenklee then visit and meet Ralph and Marion. I also encourage other visitors from the EU nations to visit where you can be safe, explore the outdoors, dine outdoors or indoors at clean safe-space tables, and support a family who has dedicated their lives and invested their fortune to build and maintain a vacation facility I most highly recommend. A very nice German hotel in the Harz. The view from the hotel is beautiful as it looks directly onto the two lakes in the town. Inside the hotel the interior is full of beautifully carved wood. The breakfast is great. Room in old fashioned German stile. 100 percent recommended.

I should have read the comments first...
Is this really an hotel? Closing the doors at 8pm?! Leaving me and my family no other choses than looking for an other hotel at 9pm without any other solution (like a key box for example..?!) The answer from the hotel ? Only one: we closes at 8... You have to find something else...
No profesionalism. No understanding. No communication possible.. But of course they keep the money...

Really nice people and surrounded by beautiful nature!!
70Style look. Do not expect the most fancy new hip design hotel but they distinguish themselves in how friendly they are, the gorgeous environment and all the comfort you need. And they have a lot of vegetarian options, plus they have large rooms.
We had a lovely stay!!
