Ostseehotel Baabe family & SPA in Ostseebad Baabe

⚠️ NO TOWELS, 1H BETWEEN BREAKFAST & CHECKOUT 😫

It would have been a very nice place but unfortunately the experience was bad.

We booked on Booking.com for 1 night and we didn’t realize there are NO TOWELS in the room description. Never heard of a hotel that doesn’t have towels! We were also not informed at check-in. By the time we realized, reception was closed & we couldn’t get any.

In the morning there was no one there until 08:30. When we asked, they told us RUDELY that we should have known… as “it’s clearly written”, and we would have to wait, because they were “busy” preparing breakfast 😂

Breakfast which doesn’t start till 9:00 🕘, by the way, and then checkout is at 10:00 already.

So if you wake up early, no shower, no coffee, no food, and then you have to rush to pack and leave. They take their own sweet time here while you are expected to run like a Roadrunner.

So, in conclusion: bring your own towels, food, coffee, and don’t forget cleaning products (room was rather dusty and spiderwebby).

At first glance, the hotel looks quite nice in the dark. However, upon entering, the smell of smoke hits you immediately, as there's a designated smoking area by the entrance, which isn't very inviting.

The room was adequate for two people, but there were many issues we wanted to address the next day. Instead, we were repeatedly told, more or less, "Have a good trip home anyway."

So, let's start with the problems.

Toilet:

Had yellow stains.
Still had other people's hair on it.
The toilet door had splashes on the bottom.
Everywhere was very dusty.

Shower:
The glass shower screen was extremely greasy.
There was hair in the shower, and the floor wasn't very clean, if it had even been cleaned at all.

Sink:
As expected, also hair and dust.

Bed:
The wall lamp wasn't properly attached and had a thick layer of dust on it.

Refrigerator:

It also had stains, like the toilet; something must have spilled on it.








































































... Breakfast:

The plates and glasses had greasy fingerprints.

The eggs didn't look very appetizing.

The sugar bowls had a similar layer of dust to the bedside lamp.
The radiator next to me hadn't seen a cleaning cloth in ages.

In general, the buffet and entrance area were one and the same, and as mentioned above, it smelled strongly of stale smoke.

I sent the hotel a complaint email and haven't received a reply after a week.

We checked in around 6-7 pm, but only because check-in wasn't available indefinitely. We didn't notice the problems until after 10 pm. Had we seen them earlier, we would have complained immediately.

The employee tried to get the manager, but he wasn't interested in discussing the matter.

The parking lot cost €12 per day and hadn't been plowed or gritted at all.

If possible, just book a different hotel. Unless you think this is acceptable.

Very disappointing!

Our stay at this hotel was anything but pleasant. We had a room in the annex, which was in very poor condition. It was clearly in dire need of renovation, and the insulation left much to be desired. The room was extremely cold, and the heating couldn't be individually adjusted but was centrally controlled. When we complained to reception about the cold, they simply brought us a small, very noisy space heater.

There was dust and cobwebs everywhere, and there was noticeable mold in the bathroom. The shower was particularly unpleasant, as it wouldn't close properly and was also covered in mold.

Furthermore, our privacy was not respected: Although the "Do Not Disturb" sign was clearly displayed on the door, someone still knocked on it just to ask if the space heater had made it warmer.

In this condition, we unfortunately cannot recommend the hotel and will certainly not be returning.

We stayed there for two nights to spend New Year's Eve on Rügen. Unfortunately, you have to give at least one star.

Mask requirement - what's that supposed to mean???? We were there on December 1st - 3rd. A waterfall cascades all night and the yard is fully illuminated.
The massages offered were very good.
