If you stay in Hotel zur Wasserburg you have to visit the castle, it's only a five minute walk. The castle was built in the 14th century and it is surrounded by a beautiful park. Today it's a place to celebrate. You can visit the castle the whole year, but the perfect time is spring.

Fine for at short stop-over, nice and quiet, not too far from highways. Need to drive to next village to find restaurants. Fine breakfast, free parking just outside.

Clean rooms. Breakfast nice and typical small german hotel breakfast. With bread and plenty of things to put on the bread. A fridge downstairs with some drinks in case you wanted something you could just grab it and write it down on a note what you took if no one was at reception. I love that this is still possible.

We recently stayed here for one night and were quite pleased. We stayed in an updated room which was very clean and spacious. The man at the front desk was very nice and helpful, I didn’t get his name unfortunately. There is limited parking on site, but plenty of other parking nearby as there are quite a few shops in the area. There is also a Tesla charger less than 1 minute away.

Despite located at quite some distant away from the city of Cologne, We have had a good time for a short one-night stay at this hotel. The amenities we enjoyed the outstation was the free 3rd party gym access located just a stone-throw away. It was a full fledged gym which we thoughtfully enjoyed.

Great little place to stay in Frechen. Very friendly staff and lovely clean room. Breakfast was great with a good selection of food on offer. Close to the Main Street in Frechen and near a tram line that takes you to Cologne city center, so convenient for trips into the city too.

The hotel was nice, rooms clean and with adequate space, and we were glad to be able to stay with our big dog. There is parking available at the hotel for 5 euros per night. The best option to go in the city for us (and probably the cheapest) was to go to a nearby P+R and take a tram. The surroundings do not offer much so it is a good option for a short stay.

Hotel is very conveniently located just off the autobahn, with fast food restaurants close by. The hotel was very busy with every car parking space taken, but was noticably quiet. Given the location next to the autobahn, traffic noise was absent. An ideal overnight base if you are travelling on to Cologne city centre or further into Germany as we were.

We used this hotel now for 4 years each time we are going on holiday. The location is very handy. There is no need to go far away from the motorway, which is close by from exit on both ways. The hotel is always clean, and the service is good. Part of the hotel is a secure car park.

We were on business trip for Messe Dusseldorf and we choose hotel Mathildenhof as our resting place, as we did 5 years ago. The owner changed but accommodation remained at highest level of service. Comfortable Ibis budget hotel with convenient location for the motorway. Breakfast was simple but nice and staff were welcoming. The location is surrounded by car retailers and industrial type units but there are a variety of fast food and better restaurants within a mile. Location a little outskirt but accessible with car and public transport

The hotel is close to the train station, but quite far from city. We booked a single bed, it shows the bed size 0.8m-1.3m wide, in fact, I think it is only 0.8m, which is really small. we understand that during the busy week (Anuga and Marathon) is high price, but it's not really worth for a single bed here.

The room was good. But accessing the hotel was quite difficult. At arrival, the doors were locked. I didn’t have access codes and in the app, it appeared as if I did not have a reservation. I stood out in the freezing cold for a while trying to figure out which number to contact. At the end, it all worked out, but not the best experience, certainly not a pleasant one.

What a beautiful small independent hotel in old town overlooking the beach and dove park. This is our fourth stay in the Ascari over the past four years & we have seen a lot of changes, some good, some not so good. Since the hotel has completed renovation of the reception, bar and dining areas, there is a much nicer feel to the place. Good location, friendly staff how ever limited supplies in the room we had no milk for the tea and coffee. Train station is 2 mins walk from hotel and cologne center is a 15min train journey. Very easy to get too. Plenty of free of street parking. Highly recommend.

Room is good, but breakfast was a disaster. At about 08:30, no more scrambled eggs, bacon, pancakes, plain yoghurt, and other things. Flagged down staff, they mumble something and disappear into the kitchen. Then the tables. Not a single table has been cleaned, so you are forced to either sit at a dirty table staring at someone else's leftovers, or sit with someone else altogether.

Kind and fluently English speaking reception. The room itself was spacious and bathroom was sufficient. It was however very cold in room ( outside temperature was 0 degrees) and there was only 1 heating unit in the room for both room and bathroom. Therefore, the bathroom was freezing and showering was unpleasant. Breakfast however had a lot of choice and was good.

The welcome was terrible. First, there was a 10-15 minute argument because they couldn't find my reservation. They claimed Trip.com canceled it but said the payment would be processed later. Absolutely unreliable.

Excellent hotel, there is parking, very large room, it's a pity there is no kettle

The hotel is just a one-minute walk from Cologne, and the atmosphere is similar to that of a school trip, but it's perfectly adequate for a one-night stay.

Unusual smell of fish in my room, there is no WiFi despite being advertised as having it. There was no one at the front desk for the 1st hour after I arrived. Conveniently located by shops as well as train station. Comfortable and affordable.
