Where to stay in Bad Schandau

Hotel with nice view to Elbe My stay was nice without any problem. Hotel is located a bit far from evening attraction but provides ferry tickets for each day in order to get to the other side of Elba river and Bad Schandau.

Boat over the Elbe connects hotel to center of Bad Schandau and start of hiking routes to natural park Sächsischer Schweitz. Good breakfast, OK restaurant and another option for dinner nearby. Clean rooms, nice staff.

It is a good location for hiking and traveling around the Saxon Switzerland National Park (Königstein, Bastai). It is not directly connected to the famous tourist attractions, but I moved by S Bahn. The interval between buses is long, but it was still comfortable to move. Very disappointed with people at reception we tried to call many times during morning and nobody picked the phone. When we get there the gentleman at the reception looked like he is not even from the hotel and the reception smelled like an ashtray. The receptionist hasn't been helpful at all and was a bit rude. The hotel looked nice and cozy, but we won't be coming back.

No elevator, had to carry my luggage to the 2nd floor. Could not open the window during night due to nearby railway line. Good breakfast choice, Bit breakfast only available as from 97:30hrs.

A historical hotel very charmful. The room we had on the Elb was very nice, large and well fitted and the view is so resting. The restaurant is good, not expensive for the place and the dinner on the terrace is magical.

Great Spa. Watch out though, it appears to be closed on Sundays. Decent breakfast, rooms were clean. Right opposite the historic elevator which is a great place to take in the golden hour with a nice beverage 🥂

Nice hotel in a perfect environment for a hiking vacation with a confortable stay (+sauna!). The staff was nice and accomodating.

We attended the Christmas night ballroom dance and had a lovely time. The ballroom is beautiful and has a really nice floor. The music was good. We discovered dance by chance and went because we were staying nearby. We will be going back next Christmas. Update we have been coming every year for the dance except during covid.

food was average but I give 4 stars mainly because of waiters which were generally quite nice and normal. I found it to be an exception in the area of Sachsische Schweiz

Beautiful house with a lovely garden in a fantastic setting. Numerous hiking trails lead directly into the national park, and restaurants are just around the corner. Bad Schandau is a half-hour walk away, and the Kirnitzschtalbahn cable car stop is just fifteen minutes away. A beautiful, high-quality holiday apartment where you can truly relax, especially in bad weather. A stunningly landscaped garden is a treat for mind and soul. We felt very comfortable here; the hostess contributed greatly to this, and the morning bread delivery service was a real bonus 👍😊🙋
