Konsumhotel am Park in Oberhof

As a family, we booked the Konsumhotel am Park for five nights with half board at the beginning of February and unfortunately, we completely regretted our booking.
The building is in dire need of renovation and in no way meets today's hotel standards. The Konsumhotel am Park doesn't have an elevator, meaning we had to lug our suitcases up and down the narrow stairs ourselves, nor did our family room have an armchair or a couch. Only two small cube stools and a simple chair are a bad joke for a supposed family room.
The parking fee was €12, which is also far too high.
The breakfast buffet unfortunately lacked any variety, and the price for dinner would have been a whopping €49 per person without the half-board option, which is outrageous for what was offered. The service staff at least seemed to be trying hard, while the reception staff in the main building of the Konsumhotel were completely uninformed when it came to questions about wellness treatments and excursions in the region, and they didn't feel it necessary to greet or farewell guests upon arrival or departure.
Conclusion: The price/performance ratio here is completely out of reach.

Over priced
Totally over priced for the quality received.

Paying over 300 eur a night for a “holiday apartment”, one expects more. At minimum better beds than two separate ones for parents + sofa bed for the kids. The parent’s bed had some weird hospital like rubber cover under the linen, making a very uncomfortable sleep. Interior finish and furniture very low cost.

Sound insulation bad, we could hear all the noises from the other rooms.

Shower’s water pressure low or even non-existing if somebody else used the water same time. The shower was anyway not to expectations.

“Apartment” was in separate building breakfast far on the other side. Also ridiculous to charge 8 eur for parking per day at this price level. Would be ok for half the price, but charging over 300 eur/night sets some expectations. The “restaurant” was a joke with 3 items on the menu.

Breakfast was good and clearly the best part of the package. Charging possibility was also a good extra.

But we will not go again.
