The chef, who is actually only responsible for the breakfast buffet, which has been excellent for many years, spoiled us and our guests with a superb multi-course star menu on the evening of our anniversary

The price/quality is excellent! I travel a lot for work so I can judge this well. Comfortable bed and good pillow. Despite the central location, it is very quiet. The breakfast was delicious, the choice was adequate

Very convenient location, city center, easy to get to. I can only rate the restaurant. Waiting time was 30 minutes (full restaurant) and the menu is very small but nice. You can get your money's worth here

Also this year we booked ourselves into the four star Michel Hotel Suhl for a week. We were particularly impressed by this hotel, which is located in the city centre on the beautiful Herrenteich

All the staff we met were extremely friendly and professional. I don't speak any German (typical British person!) but most of the staff spoke some English. I had an excellent sleep on a very comfortable bed

The food in the restaurant was excellent, but they do not have English menus, so Google translate came in very handy! Large, safe car park at the back of the hotel. Ignore the old reviews, this place is wunderbar!

Very nice accommodations. Love the pool. Right in the middle of everything. Food was great. Alexandria provided excellent service for lunch.

Really good location if arriving to Suhl by train as it is right in front of the station. Breakfast is nice and simple with fruits available. Room was nice and spacious, wish there was AC but those are rare in Germany.

Suhl sounds like a good name for an evil wizard. The best hotel stay I've had in ages. Nothing fancy, but everything just worked as it should. You need your chip to work the lift

Went to Suhl to research my famìly history All the staff at hotel and townhall and Church where every helpful. Hotel had recent upgrades and good rooms

The rooms are big an cozy with free minibar. Outside of the rooms are freezers with beer, mineral water, and some sort of Cocacola, Fanta and Sprite. The wi-fi is good (depends in which part of the hotel you are staying)

And in the morning there is nice self-service breakfast. In the hotel you have a restaurant that is mainly serving game which I hear is very good. But don't worry they serve stakes and chicken to

A great getaway stay for some quiet in the mountain forest. It was full of snow and fog when we stayed there but even then, we could see that it would be beautiful in summer. It's romantic in its rustic way

More than enough storage wardrobe space for belongings and shoes. The rooms also come with a long shared balcony, so I imagine spring and summer, it is really nice staying here

Highly Recommended Quiet location; large room; great breakfast and cozy bar! If travelling by car is not your thing, not sure if it could be a brisk walk to the hotel.

The food and service were rather good for a really acceptable price. The environment in the restaurant is not that nice. Kind of dated and not very nicely decorated.

The stay was fine but there was no fridge in the room and it not even very spacious. Heater was even not working in the middle of the night. Overall, good experience if these things get improve it will be much better

a huge property with big rooms & a big toilet/bathroom. very rare to find such spacious hotel rooms & toilets in europe. downside the breakfast place was quite a walking distance from the room

Great place to stay Stayed here for 1 night. Single room but very comfort bed. Good breakfast and nice dinner. Best is the swimming pool ( heated ) and big sauna. There is a parking at the hotel ( cost extra )

I did not like that breakfast has an additional fee of $20. We ended up at the bakery down the street. The location is great and so are the wellness offers. A little confusing as they are all over the property

An ideal place to come in the winter if you love winter sports such as sking and sleding etc. The nearness to Rennsteig makes it even more suitable for a variety of activities

Rooms are clean and food in restaurants is good. Hotel is a little bit older and a carpet in the rooms are not appropriate anymore.

The house met our expectations. The staff is friendly. The rooms are clean. The two-bedroom apartment offers a lot of space. The restaurant is of good quality. In my opinion, the house is well suited for hikers.

Modern rooms with very comfortable beds. Nice bathrooms with good water pressure. (we were on the top floor) Beautiful classic style building with antique style dining room. Both breakfast and dinner were exquisite

(we did not use their lunch option) Spa is top class, and the swimming pool one of the best I’ve seen. Not very deep but clean natural water. (No chlorine) Area is beautiful for taking hikes and enjoying nature

Excellent historic location to visit during your Thuringian Forest trip. We enjoyed the food (especially wild pork) and beer very much!

Big recommendation is hiking up to “Gaststatte Kickelhahn” where lunch is great and the view from the watchtower is spectacular. Would recommend for anyone looking for a high quality relaxed getaway 👌

It was a team event and there were around fifty of us in total. Some of us stayed only the night, but at least half was there the whole week. My family suite was larger than average with luxurious bathrooms 🚽

The bed 🛏 was large and comfortable. The dinner 🍽 buffet was plentiful and tasty 😋. 🍖🍗🥩🥙🥗🌶🌽🥦🍤 The breakfast 🍳 choices were vast, including cooked, cold meat, cereal and wide selections of patisseries

First and foremost, I liked the hotel and I WOULD stay again. It's a large hotel with a convenient basement car park. The Room and parts of the hotel were stylish and well furnished. Some bacon and lighter savouries e

croissants would have been welcomed. A larger duvet would have been helpful (in winter). Non-existent in my room and had to there off my phone. I was on a business trip, so this is of paramount importance to me

This is a standard German 3-star hotel. Price is moderate, but the room is clean with furniture in good condition. Parking space is abundantly available, breakfast acceptable, free WiFi very fast

Clean, homely, and peaceful. The breakfast was great, plentiful, and diverse. Compared to the price, it was completely worth it.

Other than being in Ilmenau - which isn't quite a hot spot - I can't fault this hotel for anything really. If you need to stay in town overnight, book here and you sure won't regret it

A modern building a short walk from the railway station and the centre of town znd the justly famous opera house (Stadtstheater Meiningen). Clean and quiet the location is ideal and with breakfast great value for money.

The staff is just super nice, courteous and open to all wishes and very animal-loving. The rooms are great and everything is clean and kept clean too. We have been there several times and always very satisfied

Also highly recommended for those arriving by train. Within walking distance, including the city center. Very nice staff, especially the very nice breakfast fairy, who has absolutely everything under control

Very neat rooms, a king's bath. Unfortunately, I couldn't enjoy breakfast because I had to leave at 7 a. But if I should stay overnight in Meiningen again, then only in the Hotel Kaiserpark

This hotel is clean, quiet, and comfortable with good food. It is somewhat dated, but to me that adds to its charm.

They have some sort of dispenser for soap, am not expert in hotels so can't tell if this is common or not but I rather have like in the Munich hotel a personal soap/bar

Great Hotel. Here you can meet the old style of living. The „smell „ of this hotel transport you back with centuries, you can fill the life from now 200 years ago.

On the Werra-located small Hotel with short way to the Theater, free Wi-Fi, and the staff are very friendly, have been 4 times to guest and come and enjoy delicious Breakfast with sausage specialties of the Region, and the chief brought the Luggage to the room

A cozy and nice hotel in the middle of the town. Soundproofing is good so outside noises are nicely blocked out. A good amount of space in the room and the room prices are not bad.

Breakfast was a bit expensive at €13 each: selection is very good but we really only wanted cereal and there was no option for a smaller breakfast

The breakfast have always been very broad and beautiful made. The buffet is also quite filling and has lots of things to try. Especially the cheese and grilled veggies. Good place for work retreats or meetings etc

It's an amazing place. Rooms are clean and well maintained. Food is very good and all facilities are very nice. The only critism. The pool table needs a bit of tlc. The gym is very small and limited.

At least the rooms that I have stayed in have been very nice with good views. The bed is super comfy and I could sleep very deeply. Also had complimentary water tea coffee

If you don't mind: in English (or Dutch. ) It was my second time in Hotel Rennsteig. The place itself, the garage for my bike, the rooms both times, the food, the people who work there

I was accommodated in the beautiful view for 3 nights on business and found a very nice, clean, comfortable and warm room (it was still quite cool outside - travel time in mid-April)

Heated towel racks were nice on a chilly summer day! The restaurant was quite lovely, and decorated our table beautifully to celebrate our anniversary (as I had noted on the dinner reservation)

We ordered some combinations of ingredients to get a meal for our kids and very much tried to get that on our table. Disadvantage is not being able to pay with cards and the closest atm is a 10 min drive by car
