One Three One in Athens

The room wasn’t what I expected. The trim was falling from the ceiling, bathroom faucet was loose and leaking, the main front door of the property door latch was broken so could easily be busted open. I read previous reviews prior to booking and they were all great. I ended up booking a separate hotel after the first night. I don’t typically leave reviews but I hope a future travelers experience is better than mine.

Total debacle , booked two nights so I could check in early, no key box details given , guy on phone ( after wrong number on web) spoke little English as I told him four times I booked two nights so I could check in early , shame as it was a basic well decorated room , close to all attractions , oh also didn’t tell us no lift , so had to carry bags up stairs ,

As the owner/manager reacted inappropriate to our justified complaint, we have to give a bad rating. Upon Arrival we learned that there was no balcony with our room (which was my major and promised booking criteria: "This double room has a balcony") but instead the room was opening to a shared patio with stairs leading up to a shared roof terrace (whis was in a sad state). The door to the patio has no window, thus it is quite dark in the room when the door is closed. The instant communication about this incorrect room description and the missing balcony was rather unpleasant: the answer was something like "there is not mentionned anywhere that the balcony is private. hopefully you can enjoy the view on the acropolis from the roof terrace". Obviously the shared roof terrace is the "balcony". We stayed in the room for about an hour and then decided to book another stay for our four nights in Athens (same prize, Athenian View Loft, perfect stay by all means). Owner or manager Maira refused to give us at least a part of our money back. Instead she cancelled our booking as "now-show", although we had checked in (and out). During our short stay, we took some pictures which show that there is room for improvement - regarding comfort as the too small mattress topper ot the blackish corners in the bathroom) and above all the business philosophy (selling something under false premises and refusing to refund). Obviously the room descriptions on bookingcom have been corrected after our complaint. Probaly the owner will answer to this post and spend a lot of energy in explaining why we as guests are wrong and stupid, as she did in earlier critical remarks. The whole things was an unpleasant and expensive experience.

We rented the suite with patio, according to the description you can imagine that is private, but you share it with 3 more room, and its really in bad condition (really dirty).
Location is perfect, nearby to any monument.
The bathroom is really old, dirty and the shower you must do it with flip flops, only one roll paper for 3 days.
Theres a disco under the hotel, so be aware of really high music until 3 am
Apart of this two things the rest is okay according to the price
